I'm actually holding out hope that Swarzak can put together a useful season. Esco and Ramirez look like small sample long shots, fun while they last, etc. Whatever they do above replacement level the rest of the way is a bonus.

 

On the other hand, S^3 disclaimer, but Swarzak looks like he's in danger of maybe developing into a reliable reliever. Not where you want your high picks to end up, but better than nothing.

Yeah, 1-4 with 2 K's isn't exactly snapping a cold streak. It's Verlander, but that's of marginal comfort when Mauer's ability as a hitter is supposed to rival the ability of Verlander as a pitcher.
