All Is Not Lost. Probably.

As for the content itself, there is definitely reason for more optimism this season... If only because it's really hard to be that bad three years in a row with as much talent as the Twins have in Mauer, Perkins, Morneau, Willingham, etc.

If the pitching staff is even remotely respectable, I think a win total in the low to mid 70s is possible. If the pitching staff surprises, we could see an 80 win team.

But I disagree about the Twins not holding many late leads. With Burton and Perkins holding down the 8th and 9th innings, this team should do moderately well for itself when holding a late lead.

There isn't a team in baseball that wouldn't kill their own grandmothers to have Perkins under that contract. He's paid well under his market value through his contract.

I know, right? I mean seriously. 'all that money' :-)

A lot of the fun this year is going to be keeping an eye on the future.

Having Arcia back is part of that.

As long as Correia doesn't take too many 1-0 leads into the 8th inning, I suppose. :) As impressed as I am with his performance thus far, I don't think that will be a frequent concern going forward...

If the Twins (read: Joseph Patrick Mauer) can keep giving eight runs of offense support, I think even a bad Kevin Correia could hold on for a win.
