All three trades are "light" in return coming back as far as I am concerned. Add 2 more decent young prospects (pitching) to the Toronto trade. 2 for 2 and we give them 2 proven high end players. C'mon. HAVE to get more.

Am fine with Groshans and Woods... but have to add a couple more arms in low minors... have to get arms...

Can't see SD looking for Pineada... rumor today has them in the running for Berios and Taylor... Gore, Thompson and Mears...

Mets... also looking for Berrios.. Got to get pitching back .. Baty, Matt Allen... and Lottery tickets from thier low minor leagues..

Is a sellers market for pitching .. controlled for another year.. better get a great haul.... !!

Think Tampa Bay.. when they make trades they get quality AND quantity...

They really need a SS, IF they can find a trade partner with a top SS prospect, that should be considered.

Absolutely! If they can get a premiere SS I’m game. My gripe is with the starry eyed perspective of getting a SS destined for third or the corner OF prospect. If we can pry Abrams I’m ecstatic! Or a true pure CF. Other than that we need top flight pitching prospects! Stat!

Dangnamit.....this is all so depressing. Trading Berrios, imho, means we are starting over. The chances of receiving a SP in return of his quality is little more than a crapshoot. Twins have invested 9 years in developing this guy, have a few seasons of quality results to show for it.

SP is where roster construction starts. Why then would we even think about trading our most capable SP and one of the most durable SP in MLB ?

Trading him now seems to me a monumental organizational failure.

If he truly does not want to sign here, we have a full year to work it out, and if not, then do what we have to do next July-either trade him or ride it out if we are contending.

But now now. Makes no sense to me, and I am really tired of the gerbil wheel constantly in motion for the next Big Pitching Prospect, which, even in the remote chance this BPP would work out, we would be several years away from any meaningful impact at the MLB level.

Where's my Liter bottle of Pepto Bismol?

Because his value is at its peak. The twins and Berrios seem miles apart. We’re not actively trying to trade him. As the reports said they’re asking price is sky high. You’re looking to be blown away. An offer you can’t refuse.

I can see not loving some of these deals considering we are packaging two players, but getting 32nd and 68th best prospects in the same deal is hard to call "light" either.

Most teams literally can't offer anything as good or better than that.
