Don't see much bunting anymore, and the one time you see it, is the wrong time.  Gallo's baseball IQ is lacking.

How was it the wrong time? It just needed to be bunted harder, and past the pitcher. That is the right bunt with nobody on the left side... just get it past the pitcher. Not a soft bunt that the pitcher or catcher could possibly field. Time was OK, but the bunt was not a good one.

Gallo is a homerun threat with one swing .  He gets on,  the Rangers need a base hit or two, a walk, or error to score the run.

I like the odds of Gallo LH getting the long ball vs the RH Thielbar.

So the time, with TWO outs is to let Gallo swing away.

OK. I see. I can buy that. But I like the successful bunt into the shift at anytime. The more runners on base, the more chance to score runs. The moneyball angle. And I love to see the shift being beat.

I also advocate for bunting away from the shift but Gallo with two outs is not the time. Gallo isn’t a speedster, which means he requires an XBH to score.
