twinssporto Verified Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Good evening and welcome back to another great game thread experience! I apologize for posting this so late... This Covid thing has thrown a real wrench into my usual schedule. Seems like everyone is having the same issues. Regardless, the Twins making the playoffs (never any doubt) makes this Covid crud more bearable. Five games left to play and we are only a half game behind the White Sox to win the division. Bet on this: The White Sox will fold and the Twins will take the division. This game means something and I think the Twins players want that divisional title. Let's GO TWINS!!! Playoff bound and ready to fight. Tonight's Lineups: TWINS: 1. Byron Buxton (CF)2. Max Kepler (RF)3. Josh Donaldson (3B)4. Eddie Rosario (DH)5. Miguel Sano (1B)6. Jake Cave (LF)7. Jorge Polanco (SS)8. M. Gonzalez (2B)9. Ryan Jeffers ©SP - Kenta Maeda (5-1) 2.52 ERA Cy Young contender too! TIGERS: 1. Victor Reyes (CF)2. Willi Castro (SS)3. M. Cabrera (DH)4. J. Candelario (1B)5. Niko Goodrum (2B)6. H. Castro (LF)7. Eric Haase ©8. Daz Cameron (RF)9. I. Paredes (3B)SP - Casey Mize (0-2) 6.08 ERA He's gonna get shelled! Nice weather tonight!
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Early results are promising out east. Giolito has spotted the Biebs a run in Cleveland 1-0 for the Ohioans, although Bieber has walked two and thrown over 50 pitches in three innings. Toronto scored two in the bottom of the first and leads NY 2-0 after one. Wildman Robby Ray is on the hill for Toronto (Buffalo). Neither game is close to locked up, but promising nonetheless.
Joey Self Verified Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 It feels odd rooting for Cleveland this time of year.I'll be out for church tonight, so won't be able to watch it live with the crew here. Root hard, guys and/or gals. JcS

Considering what he did for us last night, I guess I'll give him a pass for that.
Sielk Verified Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 At least Bieber managed it out of the inning without letting the runner on third score.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Jeffers sure has an interesting throw from his knees with one hop. The hop surely slows the ball but his release seems very quick.
Sielk Verified Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Does anyone know what Polanco and Sanó have written on their caps?
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Does anyone know what Polanco and Sanó have written on their caps? TC?
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Running and throwing out base stealers sure has diminished in the advanced metrics era.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 What's the story on Cruz. Is he hurt? Is there a reason for being out again?
Sielk Verified Member Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 TC?Yeah, of course, but they also had something handwritten on there.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Yeah, of course, but they also had something handwritten on there.Marnie lets you in on the writing on the caps.
Sielk Verified Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Marnie lets you in on the writing on the caps.Heard it, thanks.
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 He should be out though, right?
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Hope Sano is ok. Looks like a wrist or a thumb injury.
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 He should be out though, right? Looks like that's what Rocco is asking.
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Looks like that's what Rocco is asking. I'm confused. Justin and Dick aren't questioning it, but it looked like the ball was in the glove when Sano was on the bag.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 He should be out though, right?no
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Tigers didn't have many good swings that inning. Now, let's hope Sanó can swing OK.
CTTwin Verified Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 The runner was out at first !
CTTwin Verified Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 He secured it long enough.Certainly as long as needed
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Bieber out after 5 innings. The game is still tied at 1. Giolito over 100 pitches working in the 6th.
Sielk Verified Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 The runner was out at first !Fortunately, it doesn't really matter since Maeda needed only four more pitches to finish the inning for good. Let's just hope Sanó is okay.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 1 1/2 pages of posts during the final 5 days of the season. Yikes
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Indians need some runs. Somebody start beating a drum
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 I'm so glad the Twins have a true ace. So much better than pretending Berrios was ace material
