LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 The runner was out at first !Sano didn’t hang on to the ball, absolutely the right call..even if he had it for five seconds and contact with the runner knocks it out, the runner is safe
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Indians need some runs. Somebody start beating a drum Or a trashcan

MNT1996 Verified Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 I just find it hard to get pumped up when I know they're going to lose to the Yankees... The way the White Sox are playing right now I definitely don't think it's guaranteed the Twins face the Yankees round 1
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 I really think Jeffers should be the starting catcher in the playoffs.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 agree the hitter was safe, but if Sano held it for 5 seconds--even for 1 second--he would be out.not if contact with the runner dislodged the ball
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Nice to see some other team's pitcher make such a bad 0-2 pitch
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 not if contact with the runner dislodged the ballhis foot was on 1st base.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 I'm confused. Justin and Dick aren't questioning it, but it looked like the ball was in the glove when Sano was on the bag.If that was the case they should have challenged
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Three singles as good as a two-run homer.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 his foot was on 1st base.I didn’t see that, if so they should have challenged
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 I think the potential argument about the play at first on which Sano was slightly injured was that the batter-runner was not in the prescribed base path on the foul side of the foul line going down to first base. He was certainly not out based on the catch-tag attempt. It would be a tough call to call the batter-runner out on that.

They should really call up some help from the minors to get some more posts out there. Too many of the big names are being held out of the forum today, likely resting for the playoffs.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 6 more outs to gO in Cleveland
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Doesn't matter what happened the last... however many times, this year is the year. It's really gonna happen... I truly thought last year was the year. Until they win a game in the playoffs, I gotta temper my expectations. It's been a very, very long time since I've seen the Twins win a playoff game... and even then I think I was in school and wasn't able to watch the game.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 2-1 Cleveland, bottom of 7. Giolito out. Toronto up 5-1, but the Yankees have two on none out in the top of the fifth.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Three singles as good as a two-run homer. Can be. I have seen enough double plays and dubious base running to know it isn't always. Also, it is hard to spread a 2 run homer out over multiple innings.

Man, the umpire crew is getting hit by the baseballs...Laz Diaz had to pay for Ryan Blakney getting in the way at first and costing the Twins a base or two...

Hes too soft, rests his regulars way too often.
