Hardy has elbow surgery, Lewis, Kirilloff, Larnach Reassigned

"The Twins signed longtime Tigers pitcher Blaine Hardy last winter in hopes he could help retire lefthanders out of the bullpen. If it happens, it won’t be in 2020.

 

Hardy, who owns a 3.73 ERA in 233 career games over six seasons in Detroit, underwent Tommy John surgery to replace a ligament in his pitching elbow last week, and will need at least a year of rehabilitation to recover. The surgery, performed by Twins team physician Dr. Christopher Camp last Friday, also repaired damage in Hardy’s flexor pronator, the group of muscles just above the elbow in his forearm."

Technically Lewis, Kirilloff and Larnach were not optioned. They were non-roster players in the major league camp and were reassigned to minor league camp.

Correct... Was just going to point out that those guys did NOT use an option because they were just non-roster invites.

I had to look up the Twins 40 man https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/teams/MIN/minnesota-twins/roster/

Not only do they have two openings, they have a number of players that can be moved as well.  It would be no problem if Larnach, Kiriloff, and Lewis force their way onto it during this year.
