What do you use for your Manhattans? I like CC, light and mild. I've never liked bourbon.

I actually like half rye, half bourbon. I use mole bitters, and if I have a lemon, a twist.

I DID have chicken. Spent the day traveling, MCO-PTY-GUA. Followed by a 1.5 hour taxi ride through the mountains. Needless to say I was in no mood to cook anything, so I walked down to this little fried chicken joint and got some wings. Being a health-conscious individual, I also bought lettuce, carrots and tomatoes and made myself a little salad. Tried to grab a pint of ice cream as well but they only had rum-rasin. No gracias!

Just exhausted, as evidenced by me posting all over another thread on this board, thinking it was the game thread.

Okay ... I don’t know what all those airport codes are, so I can’t comment on where you’ve been.

And chicken? Still, I get your travel weary, but shame!

And rum raisin is AWESOME ice cream!

And what thread? I can move your comments to here.

I have more confidence in the Twins with Big Mike on the mound than I am with Gibson or Odorizzi

OK, you jinxed that!

What did everyone have for dinner this evening?

A lovely asparagus and rhubarb pasta salad from today's Washington Post! Yummy!

That's probably closer to a real Manhattan compared to what I like. I use Angostura bitters, also a little grenadine with a maraschino cherry garnish. I admit to being a bit of a wimp that way but it makes for a smooth cocktail.

Toothpaste sandwich?

We were just discussing something like this at work today - a guy I work with had someone prank him by replacing the center of Oreo cookies with toothpaste.  He said he ate two and then commented on the strong minty taste before they told him.

Who taught you to make them like that?

We rarely have cherries, but I might make some, as it were. We definitely like those.

That's how my dad used to make them.

I've had that before... It's very good but even better with Miami Herald mixed in.

They use a different kind of paper.

On the lighter side of the news, the BoSox have scored another 9 runs against the Yankees in 6 innings.

We wore them out.

I'm warming up to big Mike! That slider's looking good.

If we call Pineda ‘Big Mike’, can we call our Mike ‘Little Mike’?

Heh...

Steve Stone: "Pineda is pitching like time of possession is a statistic in this game."

I’m telling you, I like their broadcast team.
