Perez reminds me of when the Twins signed Ramon Ortiz. Everyone hated the signing and said it was a typical Twins signing. Ortiz spun of a month's worth of good starts (Perez has sustained it longer), and then Ortiz fell apart like everyone assumed he would.

The difference is Ortiz looked done even when he was doing OK. Perez looks like he should be able to get hitters out (even if he never has.)
