stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 The Twins finished March/April with a 17-10 record and hold first place in the AL Central. Tonight is game 3 with the Astros--I'll call it pivotal, with Berrios scheduled to go in tomorrow's finale. Playing with "house money" (a split guaranteed) with the acknowledged ace going on Thursday would be pretty sweet. The Twins have only scored five runs in the last three games after earlier having the most runs per game in MLB. Good pitching beats good hitting, or the other way around. Some of the hitters are slumping a bit--Cruz, Polanco, Rosario, Cron and one hasn't really found his stroke yet (Gonzalez). McHugh has struggled in his last couple of starts and Perez has been pretty good, as a fifth starter. Today will be a good test for him. It is May Day, so it only figures that Trevor should play an important role in tonight's tilt. Hopefully, he is a key part of a victory. Enjoy the game folks. I'm off to the golf course to play on a wet, dreary day, but it's league so we gotta get it in. I'll be attending my first game in person this year tomorrow. That should be fun, No lineups, so if someone could please post them when they become available? Thanks in advance.

Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 ESPN game tonight. Probably not quite as big of deal in the MLB.TV era, but still, national TV.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 I still don’t get why Gonzalez is locked in to the 6 spot.
Channing1964 Verified Member Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Which dudes do you mean -- the Astros or the Twins? LMMFAO....the Astros versus the Twins I am hoping! LOL...Hey dont sleep on the D-Backs..just swept the Yankees so they be ready for the weekend.

Tibs Verified Member Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Did they ever say anything about Nelson Cruz's hand? Seemed like that was bothering him last night
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 I still don’t get why Gonzalez is locked in to the 6 spot.6 letters in Marwin. It's his uniform number 9 upside down. Lots of reasons.
Joe A. Preusser Verified Member Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 6 letters in Marwin. It's his uniform number 9 upside down. Lots of reasons. The number 6 is significant culturally in Venezuella... Not really, at least not that I know of, but I bet some of you believed
Platoon Verified Member Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 I am not sure if good pitching beats good hitting. But the SSS since the turn of the twentieth century indicates it's trending in that direction!

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Did they ever say anything about Nelson Cruz's hand? Seemed like that was bothering him last nightI was going to ask the same thing. His swing didn't look right last night, so hopefully he had a good round of batting practice before getting put into the lineup.
Channing1964 Verified Member Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 OMG Marwin say it aint soooo Seis, Seis, Seis is the devils numbers. Maybe if he bats 8th? Remember when Hector Santiago decided to be number 66? Remember what happened to him? loco en la cabesá¡
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 Just learned that George Springer has been disciplined for calling our favorite umpire Angel Hernandez a "f*ing c*cksucker," which MLB is calling an anti-gay slur. Man, I just think it's an f*cking insult!
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 Watching the ESPN intro, apparently the Twins have a new player named Eddie Rozerrio. This is supposedly a reputable sports network and their baseball guys can't even correctly pronounce Hispanic names??? They should be ashamed of themselves.

Man, I just think it's an f*cking insult!Last time I saw Hernandez, he was pretty restrained behind the plate. Which surprised me. to say the least.

Blake Verified Member Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 Prediction: Twins win the division, have to play Houston in the playoffs, after Houston owns the Twins during the regular season, shades of the 87 Tigers, and the Twins advance, beating Houston in 5. If this comes true, I am going to buy as many lottery tickets as I can afford.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 And Perez gets off to a wonderful start. Better than Springer hitting a home run I guess.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 4 pitch walk... looksl ike I'm making my way to netflix sooner than planned
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 Nice 4 pitch walk and an 0-2 hit to start the game.
