It is mild agreed, but it really is old and tired, and like it or not, this example gets followed and taken to extremes in high school sports. I like frivolity a lot, bit this is pretty much just kind of lame at this point, imo. Ymmv.

There is a great slide show on espn's site (under rookie hazing) showing MLB rookies in tutus and leotards and more....and it shows many of the backpacks that rookie pitchers carry. Quite entertaining.
