What's Up, Royce?

Anyone heard what's up with Royce Lewis?  He keeps playing everyday, but his average at the Fort has plummeted about .050 in the last two weeks.  Perhaps he's just wearing down in his first year of full-season ball.  I hope it's nothing physical.

It's his first full season; I imagine fatigue is setting in...

 

In spite of his hitting woes, he's been hitting in the 3-hole regularly; so they must have faith in him.

It is most likely the random variation of slash stats that need large samples to stabilize.

A season is long enough for two hot streaks and two cold streaks.

yeah, I'm going with tired. He's never played this much baseball before. His body needs to get used to it. Even major leaguers struggle in late summer.

He has a .238 BABIP so far in August. K%, BB%, ISO all look fine during that time frame. As many have already alluded, he may be tiring, but I'm leaning more towards a string of bad luck.

It's a long season. Slumps happen. 

 

And frankly it's good to see him go through it. See how he works his way out of it.
