Exactly. If it isn't blatantly obvious when they're around, it's crushingly obvious when they're gone.

We have a dog - after years of saying no, child #6 finally wore me down. (It was really only #2 and #6 that pushed hard.) I had the "in the military/move too often" trump card to play back when #2 was still at home (and I had my wife on my side), but I retired and we bought a house about six years ago. I had other excuses saved up, but my wife was weak and turned on me.

 

The dog is ok for a dog and he's kind of cute for an eatin', sleepin', and poopin' machine. We went camping for our vacation this summer because we couldn't find someone to watch him so we could go do something civilized instead (preferably involving baseball).

 

It's irrational.

But camping with a dog is awesome! I grew up with huskies. Cairns are too terrier-ish to go camping and maintain ones sanity.

MLB.tv has been saying "The event will begin shortly" for more than half an hour now. I'm beginning to think they are lying.

 

Any word on how long the delay might be?

Never mind. I guess the only thing dumber than my dog is my "smart" TV.  I hate MLB.tv. At least it's still 0-0. Jeesh.

My friends are texting me lots of pictures but it's not the same... And I'm only just beginning my trip! Back in the motherland MN this weekend then Charlotte, NC Monday - Wednesday

He's with my best friends and gets to hang with their dog who he's known since day 1. That gives me comfort, but still, it's not like I can face time him and give him a belly rub. :(

That's OK. Talking about dogs was probably a better use of time than watching the game anyway. 

 

Note - Stupid MLB.tv app went back to a weather delay for a minute and is now unavailable.  I'm watching on my computer now.

Nice double play there.  

 

Gotta say though, the phrase "first baseman Ehire Adrianza" in the Gameday gives me chills.

 

And heck, Matthew Boyd again. Can we acronym the 'Dreaded Soft-Tossing Lefty" by now, since those guys are obviously Kryptonite to Twins' bats... as in, "Oh, no, it's another DSTL!"

But I still think I'd rather watch the Cleveland Browns preseason game over the Twins at this point.

Jesus, I didn't think it was that bad yet.
