Kirilloff and Thorpe Make Futures Rosters

It looks like Alex Kirilloff and Lewis Thorpe made the Futures Game rosters for the US and World teams respectively.  Congrats to those guys!

That’s great to see Kirilloff and Thorpe being selected to play in the futures game. Kirilloff has definitely exceeded expectations this year and don’t look now but after a rough April Thorpe has come into his own.

Every organization has to be represented, and no more than two players from any organization.

Those types of parameters often lead to snubs.

I’m not sure I’d call it a snub, as I think that implies some intentionality, but yeah, when you have to fill out two balanced rosters, and every team has to be represented, and you have world vs u.s. ... there are just a lot of paremeters that it’s just not so easy as to just choose everyone’s top 2 prospects.

This is great news for both.  But especially for Thorpe who represents the biggest need on the Twins roster, a left handed starter.  Hopefully, this can launch him to be even better during the last third of the season.  Could there be a promotion to AAA in August?  Unfortunately, he is already at the number of innings pitched last year so pitching in September is probably not an option.
