Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 You know, this Deduno fella can pitch sometimes. I don't know of you can use the Pitch word yet. But... I'm sitting here laughing watching him do what he does. Loving it.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Plouffe deep here... I'm calling it.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 You know, this Deduno fella can pitch sometimes. As I said in a game thread a couple starts ago, he's not your typical no-stuff, "control-type" Twins pitcher. I still don't trust him as far as I could throw him, and don't want any part of having him be one of the Twins first five starters in 2013, but he's tantalizing, frustrating, and fun to watch all at the same time.
glunn Community Moderator Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Plouffe deep here... I'm calling it. I was trusting you on this, old friend.

Well said, but a little pessimistic. I am hoping that he can win 15 games next year for the Twins.

Im optimistic... If he can figure out his feet and release point. It could change and change nicely. He's kinda long in the tooth and if he hasn't learned by now. But maybe he's at the point now where he has tasted it and takes fixing it more seriously.

twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Casilla!.....gotta admit, didn't see that coming,
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 That's it... Mastrionni at 2B tomorrow. We may have to get freaking chant going or something.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Mastro again, loving it! Needs to play more...................and the Twins need sliding practice
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Mastro again, loving it! Needs to play more...................and the Twins need sliding practice The grounds crew has to put something down to slow the surface... Something like those flower pots they put in front of large venues to prevent things from driving into the buildings.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 That is a Liriano-esque slider!!!
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Doumit has put the Two down quite a bit for Deduno.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Put him out for 8? He's more of a threat to himself than the Tigers this far.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I'm not familiar with Mastro's defense. He's better in the OF right? How good is his defense in the OF and how good a second base does the guy play. I agree, I'd like to find a place for him to play daily and see if he can continue to perform.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Put him out for 8? He's more of a threat to himself than the Tigers this far. Tough call... The Tigers wouldn't be my consideration. Do you let Deduno pitch the 8th cuz he's feeling good or do you pull him to make sure he leaves the game feeling good.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Put him out for 8? He's more of a threat to himself than the Tigers this far. With 94 pitches, I don't see how they bring him back out at this point. Though, I'm sure this is a situation where Gardy brings Gray into the game and it's tied going into the 9th.

He's a nice OF defender. No idea about 2B but I know he has been taking grounders nearly everyday. Gardy most likely won't experiment against the Tigers. With the Tigers in a pennant chase but I think he should do it on Friday against Seattle. Nothing hurt in that game... Let's see. Mastro at 2B. Im completely serious. Anyone have Gardy's cell number... I'm calling him.

Is incorrect?
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 With a .314/.240 L/R batting split, maybe Doumit should just hit from the left side.... while writing this Doumit makes it a foolish point with that homer. Atta boy!
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 So I started Lucroy over Doumit in my fantasy matchup. Oops... And it was my only possible lineup decision to make with a light schedule.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 See, Gray is warming up...
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 But with the current lead, it's a good time to eat some innings, I guess.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 It's a tough call... Hope he wiggle out.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Keep the Mastro in right!!!!
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 He better be in the lineup tomorrow. He's earned it.
