sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 twins bullpen needs a re-entry rule.I think i'd settle for not getting knocked into orbit in the first place...
twins_89 Verified Member Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 He's crippled up. Like David Ortiz last year, if he went solely by what his legs told him, he'd retire. It's mind boggling that Pujols has 4 seasons left on his contract that are all #27M or more a year.
Carneal&Gordon Verified Member Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 This ump can't be serious, already gave them a run with the Valbuena walk
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 Escobar is a proven major league baseball player. You underrate him as a defender and 2 years and the year before he was a super solid offensive contributor as our starting SS. Escobar is not in the least a problem on this ball club. His numbers will equalize, he has already contributed with some big hits. He has HR pop in his bat along with EBH capability. I believe most clubs would be happy to have him as there UT guy.I was in no means saying Escobar should be off the club or anything. I actually like him as a UTL infielder even though he has been scuffling as of late. I was more praising Adrianza's glove work in the field which I have been very impressed by. We aren't going to find a better utility infielder then Esco. I think I got misunderstood.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 Escobar certainly isn't lighting the world on fire this year, but he has some proven offensive abilities. He's had stretches where he has been downright good at the plate. Add that to being a switch hitter, the fact that he'll play off the bench without complaint, and play nearly anywhere defensively, and I'm not sure what more you can ask for out of a utility guy. I don't think Jose Altuve or Carlos Correia will be available anytime soon....Esco-bear can thank Bark for the good luck charm today. 3 hits!
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 Oh good, let's bring in the guy with the 8 ERA.It's not above 8 anymore. / 7.91
mikecgrimes Verified Member Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 How about get half the angels infield the hell away from our injured player
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 How about get half the angels infield the hell away from our injured playerThere SS was down as well...it's not like they were doing anything to him. Not sure why that matters. Probably asking if he was fine.
Darius Verified Member Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 The guy who wanted Escobar out of the lineup was really excited for a minute...
mikecgrimes Verified Member Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 Two players getting injured at the same time is a good new rule for a pace of play
mikecgrimes Verified Member Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 There SS was down as well...it's not like they were doing anything to him. Not sure why that matters. Probably asking if he was fine. After the bad slide the prior inning and then that I'm not to worried about the guy who caused Escobar's injury flopping around like a soccer player.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 The guy who wanted Escobar out of the lineup was really excited for a minute...I think he was on record as saying Escobar's the worst player in the history of baseball. Maybe I misunderstood.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 After the bad slide the prior inning and then that I'm not to worried about the guy who caused Escobar's injury flopping around like a soccer player.he didn't do anything intentional..they made incidental contact...their SS knocked the ball down like any other middle infielder covering the bag on a steal is taught to do. Nothing was done on purpose.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 The guy who wanted Escobar out of the lineup was really excited for a minute...I'm not calling for Escobar out of the lineup. Also, is a utility infielder even considered "in" the lineup
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 Every CFer makes that play against Cron, but it sure is nice having confidence in our guy to make it a no drama play.

Blake Verified Member Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 Molitor gave up the DH and put Mauer in? Where are my flying pigs?
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 Has kintzler EVER had a clean outingChecking bb-ref.com... um... nope. Never. He's 15 appearances away from the record.
Twodogs Verified Member Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 Taking Mauer out of the DH slot could prove problematic if the Angels tie the game up? No?
twins_89 Verified Member Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 It seems like Kintzler can never have a worry free save opportunity. Granted he's been successful, but I'd really like to see more stress free 9th innings.
Darius Verified Member Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 Interesting note from the Braves game: Danny Santana went 4-5 (1 HR 2 2B), with 3 runs and 3 RBI. He was also awarded NL MVP during the 7th inning stretch.
