What are you talking about? Being a solid third catcher with options provides lots of organizational value.

If he is AAA, not here, he provides literally no value at all to the Twins.

OK. So what? They have a catcher and an acceptable backup right now, and now with Garver a good third catcher with three years of options.

If they remove those in front of him they lose that depth and its not clear there would be an upgrade. What's the hurry?

Garver's production and likelihood that he can be at least a competent C puts the org in a good spot.

Sooner or later, Berrios will be up. Hopefully for good. I haven't dismissed Duffey to the rotation, but I'd rather he stay in the pen and excel there.

I believe we will see 3 or 4 young RP make their mark at some point this season.

Seems to see the FO really knew what they were doing brining in Castro and Gimenez. But Garver is ready, or soon will be. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Gimenez traded at some point to a team needing catching help and Turner brought up.

Really hoping Goodrum turns out to be what we all hoped DanSan would become.

NOT damning Mauer or wishing him ill will in any regard, but he is starting very slow. He does seem to be injured at least once, if not more, ever year. Could this really be the end of the line for him? If so, could make room for both Park AND Vargas at some point, once the bullpen drops to 7.

IMO, of course, Gimenez is bad. He's not going to magically get better. Garver could be good. I'd like him in MN by June, getting used to being a MLB player, so that he's ready in a year or two, when/if the Twins are good. Rather than have him be a rookie with no experience in two years, I'd like him to be experienced in being a MLB player.

I think June is a good timeframe for Garver as well.  He's off to a good start, but let's see if he can keep it up.  He certainly would provide a nice offensive sub at some point, so he's a better backup 1B than say Giminez, but Castro is going to see the lions share of the games behind the plate, so making sure Garver has the time to keep developing his defense in AAA isn't a bad thing.  He won't be able to do it in Minnesota.
