Well, of course they are. They don't want anything that sheds unfavorable light on them or the President. They certainly don't want information to come to light that make Donald Trump look more illegitimate as the leader of the free world.

He's not the leader of the free world, we ceded that position when we elected him to POTUS. I'd say the position has no person in it right now. Why? Because I don't think that Europe and Asia are following the US's lead right now, that's why. But, there is no country large enough to take that leadership. If the UK was not leaving Europe (again), maybe Merkel would be that person.
