HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 Bounce along Gibson. They don't need an innings eater, nor a .500 pitcher. At age 29, these should be his best years. :-( IDK about Plouffe. It's a gamble letting him go and a gamble keeping him. Either way, there's injury and Sano concerns. Bounce back on Berrios, Rosario and Sano. If you can actually say "Bounce Back" on 3 young players. Year 3 of Rosario: I'm expecting a break through :-)
Loosey Verified Member Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 Mauer has been a bounce back candidate for 3 seasons now... I think it's fair to say that what you saw this years is probably what you're going to get. I hope I'm wrong here, but I'm not holding out much hope. He was pretty decent this season, but not worth anything close to the contract, nor an extension 2 years from now if the 1B/DH glut continues. That reminds me, we are now less than 2 months away from the annual "Mauer feels the best he has in years" article. I can't wait. I wonder what he worked on this offseason, strength? Agility? Quickness? Oh Boy! I can't wait! Vanimal46 and Mike Sixel 2
Jordan1212 Provisional Member Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 Kyle Gibson is never gonna be good period so no I disagree with that statement he has never been good and never will be so let's just forget it with him PLEASE!!!
jimmer Verified Member Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 (edited) What's Rosario going to bounce back to? His BA in 2016 was better than it was in 2015.His OBP in 2016 was better than it was in 2015.His K rate was up slightly this year, but not significantly. His walk rate was up slightly (again, not significantly) The area where he was 'worse'? His slugging % was down this year, compared to last year, due to an unsustainable amount of triples he had in 2015. This was predictable and was mentioned when people were talking about who was likely to be most disappointing this year. He was basically the same player he was last year, at least offensively. And, defensively, the league figured out he could throw so his assists went down cause less ran on him. Edited November 18, 2016 by jimmer
