Shane Wahl Verified Member Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Ultimately, I think the Twins have to deal Park soon. Then it is just really a matter of Mauer, Vargas, and Sano at 1B/DH, with Sano also getting ample time playing third. Keeping Park around for awhile is still doable. Mauer, for the first time that I can remember, had big L/R splits, while Vargas mashed lefties. Honestly, some maximal value can potentially come from playing Vargas and Park against lefties and having Mauer available to pinch hit later in games against righties and to take over 1B duties.
