Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 I too enjoyed listening to strange and exotic radio stations late at night on my little blue hand crank flashlight radio. If it was dark in time, i could barely get wbbm from chicago with old time radio... I used to spin the AM Dial when younger just to hear far away stations. If you do that now... They all have the same programming and it isn't as much fun.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 That's called "Dad preview."If that's what I have to look forward to, I'm not ready to be a dad.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 I noticed that. The exit ramps have signs that say "Scenic Overlook" I use the exit ramp in Fargo to check traffic in Bismarck.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 If that's what I have to look forward to, I'm not ready to be a dad. No one is ready... If we waited until ready Los Angeles would have a population of 186.
Reider Verified Member Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Fun fact of the day: Former Twins 3rd baseman Danny Valencia has the highest batting average on today's Oakland A's line-up (.328) and is batting clean up.

If it was dark in time, i could barely get wbbm from chicago with old time radio... Way back in the day, I was a weekend announcer at a small radio station in WI. It was both AM and FM. Except after the sun went down. By law, we had to shutdown the AM portion because WCCO AM went to full power. Our little station would have caused static in WCCO AM's signal
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 I knew that Park was going to get a hit. How did I know? I picked up Chris Davis in a fantasy baseball trade because I needed Park insurance and that put Park on the bench today. It was a no doubter that Park would get a hit.
Platoon Verified Member Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 This game has so little flow Dick is missing pitches.
twinssporto Verified Member Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Dick just said Suzuki is hitting .100 against lefties. Why didn't we start Cento?

HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Clear channel, our local station did it also.I loved the job, but if you're not hooked into the voice over/commercial group, the pay is pretty poor. Pretty much everything is automation now. I miss John "Records" Landecker, Dr. Demento and The True Don Blue....

David HK Verified Member Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Jeepers, somebody tell me that Plouffe and Zuke are only out there to give Escobar and Centeno a breather.

David HK Verified Member Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 We were so small, it wouldn't have been much more than a fart in the wind....You could hear one of those on ol' KSJB... I thought it was sound effects from the hog price reports.

twinssporto Verified Member Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 I remember doing a fly in fishing trip as a kid into northern Ontario. My dad brought a radio up with us just for fun to see if we could pick up something. During the day we didn't but at night we listened to the Cardinals game. Picked up a St. Louis station all the way in Ontario. Can't remember if it was AM or FM. Thought it was very cool. No internet back then...
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Used to be fun driving through the midwest on a late summer night and finding so many ballgames on the radio from literally all over

David HK Verified Member Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 There has got to be that stat, somewhere- runs given back after team scores. Gotta be. And we gotta be at the bottom.
jimmer Verified Member Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 not sure what THAT was, except an out for any somewhat decent outfielder. Athletic play though. Corner OF defense hasn't cost us anything this year.
Platoon Verified Member Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 We are in the second inning, one barehand dropped, one throw to bag missed, and I am not sure how to describe what happened in RF.

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 How many more runs are the twins going to allow sano to cost them before they end their experiment?
Marek Houston Wichita Wind Surge - AA SS On Saturday, Houston went 3-for-5 and scored two runs. After a short slump, he is now back over .290 on the season. Explore Marek Houston News >
