The Academy Awards are this weekend and there is even a baseball movie nominated in the Best Picture category?!?!

In honor of the Oscars, I was wondering, "What's your favorite baseball movie?"

Honestly Moneyball may have been my favorite yet.

I was always a sucker for Angels in the Outfield as a youngster. Field of Dreams of course is a classic. The Rookie was pretty solid.

Probably Little Big League, but the Major League movies are up there. Moneyball was phenomenal as well.

To be honest, if it's about baseball, I'd probably enjoy it.

Toss up between Bull Durham and Major League, but I hold Field of Dreams and Eight Men Out very near those two. Never enjoyed The Natural. I liked Moneyball, but it's not with those first four for me. *61 was really good. There are so many good baseball movies.

Bang The Drum Slowly with DeNiro and Michael Moriarty.

I watch it every spring.

I wish the rest of Mark Harris's baseball novels could be made into movies as well.

Also would like to see The Celebrant, by Eric Rolfe Greenberg, probably the best baseball novel ever written, in film.

I'm a farmer from Iowa who loves baseball and has had a strong faith. 'Field of Dreams' will always be my favorite all-time movie. If you guys have never been to the field, it makes a wonderful weekend for you and your family. Bring gloves, bats, balls, and of course, a camera!

"raykinsella"... Why am I not at all surprised that "Field of Dreams" would be your favorite movie!? :) I've never been to the actual Field of Dreams in Iowa. It's definitely got to be on every baseball fan's Bucket List though!

I can't believe For Love of the Game has not been mentioned!!! Just kidding. Nice call Bonnes and Stohs on *61. I was at the "World Premier" of 61* in 2001 at the Fargo Theater. I still rank the #1 The Natural and #2 Bull Durham with Major League a close #3 and Eight Men Out as #4. Major League II and III may be the two worst baseball movies ever made.

Nobody has mentioned "Talent for the Game". While not my favorite baseball movie (probably Major League is) it's pretty good and even has a reference to the Twins' Eddie Bane in it. Movie is about a scout that finds a phenom that can throw heat so the Angels decide to use the kid as a promotional tool to hype up interest in the club. Anybody remember July 4, 1973 as it relates to Twins history?
