  1. Great! I will miss Denard and will enjoy following his progress with the Nationals. Good trade? Gave up alot to get alot.
  2. Somebody in the brass section is very stubborn.
  3. I agree with just about everything Itwedt says, particularly with Grady and his health. There could be trouble ahead. I disagree in that I think Morneau will play more than 120 games. One prediction: Luke Hughes will become a starter and hold a position for for 7+ years.
  4. My feeling on these two, Salama and Bromberg, has mainly to do with the successful philosophy the Twins had toward their bench and bullpen up until last year. Their formula for reserve bench players worked year after year: good fielding, versatile, speed. Bullpen would consistantly be geared more towards control than anything else, and also a consistant idea that they could pick up a suitable reliever via farm system, trade, waiver, ect. when needed. They had a very good track record of doing this until last year in both departments. Everything snowballed. I guess you could say, if given enough time, all flaws will be exposed. I guess I hope these two are in the Twins plans and they give them a shot sometime to see what they can do at the major league level.
  5. I agree with Itwedt, there needs to be more power on the bench, send Butera elsewhere.
  6. It will be very interesting on how the opening day outfield lineup will be. I like Plouffe and Revere equally well for what they each bring to the table. In the long run I think Plouffe's bat will be needed in the lineup as the Twins will struggle getting the long ball. Makes sense to bring in Revere for defense and spot starts, which could easily give him 300 AB's, valuable experience in the field, much better than send him to minors.
  7. Good day overall. All the highlights listed answer concerns in positive ways, no injuries the biggest. May things progress as spring marches on.
  8. I think winning takes care of alot of problems. Winning will cover problem areas until there is too many to cover and and it snowballs. Did this happen last year? An avalanche for sure! Lets see if Gardy can do as your article suggests.
  9. Not to high on Gardy either. Stubborn ways were o.k. when winning but a few more losing seasons and the chorus will be louder for his hide. Waiting to see a few games.
  10. I am going with Cleveland and I have to agree with glanzer that they will not be seperated by many games. I look for the Twins to be around 4th. The killer for them will be lack of power added to their pitching. They may only hit 125 homers. I await a pleasant suprise.
  11. The Natural. A classic in my book.
