370/398/540 for the GCL Twins and Elizabethton last year. Placios spent 2014 in the DSL.

I was excited by Palacios being in Cedar Rapids and close enough to go see play once in a while. Unfortunately, he has not prospered at low A at this point. His slash is 192/268/219 in 73 AB. His BB/K is not bad at 8/11 but 6 errors in 20 games is a little rough.

Seems like all of the organization's SS prospects are getting roughed up in the field... That's crazy offensive production from him last year. Hopefully he can turn things around.

Still similar numbers offensively with a 193/252/259 slash line with 135 at bats. He only committed two more errors since the last update so that is improvement. He has been at SS for all 301 innings so far this year.

Not much to update as Palacios numbers seem to be staying fairly much the same all year with a 216 BA over the last 10. Some players need half a year to master a level, some take a year some have to repeat a season at a level. Let's hope this is the second and not the third scenario developing.

Palacios' numbers seem to be creeping upward. He is now hitting 222/276/284. Defensively, he has a .952 FPCT with 14 errors in 586 innngs so the defense appears to be improving as well.

Jermaine Palacios had a rough season after what most prospect watchers thought was a breakout season in two levels of Rookie Ball last year. His season totals flatlined at 222/276/287 for an OPS 375 points lower than last year. Just when he looked to be busting out of the first half season slump, he broke his hand and that was that as they would say. The most frustrating part was that he hit .357 in 42 at bats over the last 10 games before breaking that hand. 

 

Palacios still made Seth's preliminary top 50 coming in at #32 but this season did not help his stock any. He won't turn 21 until July 19th next summer so there is still plenty of time and hope.

 

2017 Forecast:

Palacios will surely be sent back to Cedar Rapids which will give us a chance to drive down and see him. I am predicting that he starts out next season much hotter than he began this year and am hoping he forces a mid season promotion though the more likely scenario is a promotion later in the season than earlier.
