Sickels Top 175

I think Buxton at 7 shows better integrity than the rankers who still have him #1 or #2 out of force of habit. Last year took some luster off IMO, and the ranking should reflect that. #7 still means likely a darn good player.

KC, Chicago, and Detroit combined to have 8 prospects on the list. Cleveland has impressive depth now, with ten names. The only two prospects in the division getting better than a B+ grade were Buxton (A) and Berrios (A-).  The Twins had five on the list before Detroit posted its first of three. KC had two prospects, both in the lower half of the list. The Sox had three prospects on the list.

Yeah, Buxton's .305/.367/.500 (.867) stat line in 72 games at AA and AAA sure does take the luster off of him.

I think Buxton suffers from two things 1) obviously, his slow start in the majors and 2) prospect fatigue.  I think people are underestimating how good of a year he had last year, especially off of a lost 2014 season.  He's going to be a stud for us and sooner rather than later.
