I have a companion piece blog about the Twins' young outfielders. I speculated that one should be traded and said that the obvious choice was Arcia, although I am not sure that is the right move.

Perhaps the guy that should be moved is currently overvalued. That could be Kepler or maybe it is Hicks. My point is that it isn't wrong to trade a player with upside. If you can get a lot more for a guy who projects pretty high, it might be better to do so than trade the next guy who might have a lower ceiling, but a higher floor.

I like Rosario, but considering he has difficulty taking pitches and drawing walks, perhaps he's the one to move.  It seems to me, the other young players who have had a hard time doing this tend to regress quite a bit, and Rosario must have some helium at this point.

I think you're right about this. Since Hicks has started to hit, they won't rush Buxton.

that would make him the only ELITE prospect on this year's list not to be a regular this year, let alone next year.

No way he starts in AAA next year, unless he is AWFUL the rest of this year. It's not "rushing" him at all for him to be here. That's when ELITE players come up, not when they are 24.

I hope so.  It doesn't make sense from a service time standpoint but I miss September callups of top prospects.

Just don't see it if he doesn't have space to play.

I would rather they gave some at bats to Arcia and maybe even Buxton some extra reps before calling up Kepler in September.

Seriously, out of the entire post, you pick that?

I'll try again, of the ELITE prospects this year, in AA or higher, he will be the only one not a regular this year, or next year, that's what people are suggesting?

Adding 3 years to a guy seems like a pretty big exaggeration, especially when you are using at as a point in the context of his debut relative to other elite prospects. Actually looking at ages would show he is doing fine, just a little delayed thanks to his latest injury.

And I wouldn't worry too much about what other people are saying about Buxton and his usage. If he stays healthy he's in the bigs.

All of those top prospects were also healthy and played full seasons.  Buxton has missed so much time that it shouldn't be a surprise if he stays in the minors a little longer.  Especially since Hicks might be a legit player and can cover CF.

This would be similar to Oscar Taveras with the Cards.  He was in AAA and got injured in 2013.  He should have been up in 2014 (or even 2013) but he missed time and the Cards didn't have room.  Unfortunately he passed away the following year.
