I was surprised by; Jay being as high as he is (particularly above Nick Gordon), Blankenhorn not being above Cabbage, and Hu not really rising.

I feel like people have been complaining a lot about Nick Gordon, I don't get it, his numbers look just fine IMO.

Most publications had Cabbage higher than Blankenhorn predraft, so this doesn't really surprise me.  Also worth noting, Cabbage was on the young end of the high school class while Blankenhorn was among the oldest, so Cabbage may take a bit longer to develop.

Yeah I don't know, people stopped paying attention after his slow start in the first two months?  In June and July Gordon has hit .301/.358/.386, right in line with a top SS prospect, and scouts really like his defense.  He has to add some muscle still (hopefully), but he's still a top prospect.

6 Twins on the top 100 list:

Buxton - 1

Sano - 4

Berrios - 26

Jay - 76

Polanco - 89

Gordon - 91

Kepler was also listed as the 8th best 1B prospect

I think Hu rose from something like #24 to #20. They used to include preseason rankings but they aren't there right now

Sano will obviously graduate, but I also think Kepler sneaks in the top 100. I thought 4-6 would be about right in the offseason rankings.

I really prefer to look at HS draftees this way (with leniency given to the younger, rather than penalizing the older), because people can't control their age at graduation. Having a different expectation for the older prospect next year (in his first full season), i.e. he should start in low-A vs. Rookie ball,  just doesn't seem equitable to me.

I think whether you're 17 or 18 or 19, you're pretty young.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Cabbage got a bigger signing bonus (well over slot) than Blankenhorn (who went quite a bit under slot) even though Cabbage was taken in the 4th round and Blankenhorn in the 3rd.

Gordon has been terrific since about May 22. He really struggled for a month from mid-April through mid-May...

I think the miss is Kepler being too low...
