Any ideas why, in the era of Tommy John surgery and advanced stats, teams don't pull their starters in blowouts where the starters team is actually winning to save the arm. I get that teams want to protect the bullpen. Anyone see teams trying this approach? You'd have to work around pitcher's egos of course.

Starters pitching deep into games isn't something we're experts on here at Twinsdaily.

 

Nor are we of blowouts for that matter.

Less about pitcher's egos and more about teams valuing certain stats during contract negotiations.
