ashbury Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I'm watching on gameday. Don't tell me that ball should have been caught. If we still had the sainted Ben Revere patrolling there, it would have been. Ah, for the days when we had a classic RFer.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 ... Clover likes the cello but not the flute. Reminds me of the ol' summer camp puzzle figurin' out why Goony likes some stuff, but not other things. Anyone else know it?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 The Tiger broadcasters were making a big deal that he hadn't gotten one all season, so it was sweet. It is good to prove them (and us) wrong, isn't it? Looks to be a quick game. Hope we can match the run sooner...
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I can't listen I never thought I'd live to see the day when someone would voluntarily choose to play a digital piano over a grand, but we got one yesterday and my little brothers have been at it for hours. I can't even practice the piano on the grand because they're making so much noise. D':Digital pianos should come with headphones ... just a suggestion for how you can both play/practice. My piano needs tuning.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 MLBN switched away from the Twins to Baltimore. Curses on MLBN.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Reminds me of the ol' summer camp puzzle figurin' out why Goony likes some stuff, but not other things. Anyone else know it?Excellent! We called the game Odd But Not Peculiar. Cello but not the flute. Minneapolis but not St Paul. Next?
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Who's on 2nd and how did he get there?
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Joe's been on those doubles lately. Lookin' good.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I see Dozier scored so that tells me who was on 2nd.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Meanwhile, for the Circus Boy crowd, Tigers get a run on some flyballs off of Hughes, but we counter with a run on a Mauer RBI. 1-1, and Mauer's on second with one out.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Excellent! We called the game Odd But Not Peculiar. Cello but not the flute. Minneapolis but not St Paul. Next? You got it. The canonical example is the moon, but not the sun.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Who's on 2nd and how did he get there? What.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 You got it. The canonical example is the moon, but not the sun.Noone can get this but everybody can't. / kind of stretching things, I know.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I see Dozier scored so that tells me who was on 2nd.No, he wasn't.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 ARCIA!!!! He cleared the seats. Now 3-1. CBU.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Oswaldo updates the Circus Boy, bringing in Mauer for 3-1 lead. As expected?
formerly33 Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 "And Arcia's going to hit a home run right here. There it is! Way back!" ~ Danny G's CBU.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 "(Shane) Greene, but not (Phil) Hughes." "Plouffe and Castellanos, but not Dozier and Kinsler."
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 CBIU: 3-1 Twins after 4. Twins have 5 HITS mostly singles except for Joe's big double this inning and Arcia's home run.
Hrbowski Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I think that is the first time I ever heard an announcer call a home run, and on the next pitch say, "THERE IT ISSS!!!"
formerly33 Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 "(Shane) Greene, but not (Phil) Hughes." "Plouffe and Castellanos, but not Dozier and Kinsler."Doppelgängers and furballs.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 The Tigers broadcaster summarized the inning as "Arcia, lifting and separating" as the video reply of the homer was shown. I'm old enough to remember that phrase as... well... do you really want to go there, dude? To be thought of as on a par with a TD game thread poster?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 "(Shane) Greene, but not (Phil) Hughes." "Plouffe and Castellanos, but not Dozier and Kinsler." (Goony takes) balls but not strikes.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Okay, Phil Hughes, you've got a lead. Show us how you preserve it.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 But geez the Tigers are hitting to right field.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Doppelgängers and furballs."... but not"???
Hrbowski Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Now Cory and Danny are talking about what they are going to do in Milwaukee, apparently Kyle Hammer doesn't get to go with them.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I love DP's when the Twins make them on defense but I get so tired of them when the Twins are at the plate. CBIU: 0-0 after 2. What's CBIU? Circus Boy Irritating Update?
