Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 With the completion of the 2014 World Series, 121 MLB players became free agents. Here is that list. Remember also that six-year minor league free agents who have not yet signed also became free agents. The only Twins player listed is Jared Burton.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 I don't recall the list being all that exciting, haven't had a chance to check it lately (SP is pretty good, IIRC, but not much in terms of OF help).
Paul Pleiss Verified Member Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Please allow me a moment to myself to play the world's smallest sad trombone for Jarrod Burton's departure for Minnesota. (pause) Thank you, You may not return to your regularly scheduled lives.

I think a trade for an outfielder is in order, while signing a rotation piece. I like Masterson and Peter Bourgos for those roles.
whosafraidofluigirussolo Verified Member Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Markakis, Rasmus and possibly Aoki are free agent OFs I'd hope the Twins would look at. A little leery of Aoki since he was lifted for defensive replacements so much in the playoffs, but supposedly his longer track record on defense is OK.

This was his best season of defense, per any metric. The Royals just chose to use a "super defense" mode late in the game, moving one of the best center fielders in the game into right field to cover virtually every inch of the outfield. I'm honestly hoping they consider Aoki in Atlanta if they can find a taker for BJ Upton.
