SirLoin Verified Member Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 What's the status on Kyle Waldrop's rehab assignment? He hasn't pitched for Ft. Myers since May 14th. Did he have a setback, or is he working more in EST? I look to you, great Twins minor league minds!
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 I've been wondering about that myself. Clearly, the Twins aren't really concerned about getting him back of the DL. They probably don't know what to do with him when he is ready. He sure won't be with the big club, given how their bullpen has done. Maybe they can stretch him out to be a starter; they're going to need plenty to finish the season:).
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Does not look good... Here is the Transactions listing: RHP Kyle Waldrop (right elbow strain) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 26. He began pitching in extended spring training games April 30. He began a rehab assignment with Class A Fort Myers on May 12. He should return by early June

Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Does not look good(??)........is there more to it than what you posted???He has a "right elbow strain"; they perscribe "rest and rehab"; he is done; he pitches a couple of innings in high A and has to be shut down again (more rest and rehab). In this organization with this medical staff just does not sound too good. We have seen this story way too many times... From Neshek to Baker to Wimmers...
greengoblinrulz Provisional Member Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 they said it was a strain, not a tear.....so hopefully......however, upon a 2nd opinion you never know what they'll find
greengoblinrulz Provisional Member Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Waldrop pitched for Ft Myers today pitching a scoreless 6th inning allowing a walk & 2Ks

Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 I'm cautiously hoping for the best on Waldrop, hoping that what I'm hearing is not true.
greengoblinrulz Provisional Member Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 what is the word on waldrop.......possibly rhyme with TJ surgery
TwinsGuy55422 Provisional Member Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 I hope he doesn't have something more serious going on. We need all the help we can get.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Waldrop pitched an inning at Ft. Myers yesterday. I know he had a precautionary MRI about a week ago.
