mikeee Provisional Member Posted May 20, 2012 Author Posted May 20, 2012 there. we are off and running now. The hammer with a clutch single to score Revere!
Vegeta Provisional Member Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Revere continues his hot streak with another dbl.
woolhouse Provisional Member Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 And look at that... could this be the last lead Marquis blows while a member of the Twins' starting pitching staff?
EephusKnuckler Provisional Member Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Nice, Marquis gives up two solo shots in the 1st
Shane Wahl Verified Member Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 This is what I am talking about with regard to Anderson. Can anyone do a study comparing the Twins pitchers' 1st inning performance vs. the rest of the league in the Anderson era, or at least this year? I remember Radke having 1st inning issues as well. And then settling. Marquis and Blackburn, not so much.
J-Dog Dungan Provisional Member Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Can't be doin that if ya wanna keep ya jabba, Marquis!
glunn Community Moderator Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 We probably need to score a lot of runs to have a chance today.

I remember Maddux and Glaving were notoriously 'normal' in the 1st inning and with most good pitchers you hear, "Better get him early cuz you won't get him once he gets going."
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 The Mauer AB in the first inning pisses me off to no end. #3 hitter up with a runner on second. he shud be looking for a pitch to drive. He watches two fastballs down the middle and now he's in defensive mode and makes a weak swing at a 2 strike pitch with predictable results.
Vegeta Provisional Member Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Marquis clearly doesn't have it today. Hopefully the Twins can put up some runs and keep this thing close. Try to make it into a bullpen battle. Grienke luckily is prone to big innings , you just gotta rattle his cage a bit.

I would still like to see some data in defense of the Twins, then.
Shane Wahl Verified Member Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 It's time for Jason Marquis to be released.
mikeee Provisional Member Posted May 20, 2012 Author Posted May 20, 2012 Do they have another minor leaguer to bring up?
Montecore Verified Member Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Jettison Marquis. Mediocre at best and they knew it all along.
glunn Community Moderator Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 This is starting to look like batting practice for the Brewers. I would like to see Marquis go on the DL for a while to try to get his head together.
Shane Wahl Verified Member Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Mediocre or bad would be one thing. He is TERRIBLE.
Vegeta Provisional Member Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 This one is gettin ugly quick. Side note. Even if you a Brewer fan how can you really cheer for Braun???????
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Jason Marquis...worst FA signing of the Terry Ryan era, or worst in baseball history? Discuss.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Does Marquis have a secondary pitch beyond grooving an 88mph sinker with little sink? Wait, I know the answer already.
mikeee Provisional Member Posted May 20, 2012 Author Posted May 20, 2012 I hope they yank him soon... geez.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Nothing like ending a nice winning streak with a pitcher knocking you out of it early. Good grief!
Shane Wahl Verified Member Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 DeVries and Bromberg on call. Marquis and Blackburn need to go away. The Twins have done a nice job figuring out their position players, it is now time to get rid of this garbage rotation.
glunn Community Moderator Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Finally Gardenhire pulls him. Now we need to get out of this inning and score 7 runs.
glunn Community Moderator Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Would it be possible to send Marquis to Rochester? No one would claim him?

Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Would it be possible to send Marquis to Rochester? No one would claim him?We would want some one to claim him to pay for his salary, right? 3 million dollar bargain
twinswon1991 Provisional Member Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Terry Ryan shouldve been fired the moment he signed Marquis to a mlb deal. No other team was willing to give him even a minor league deal. Add this to the loss of draft pick for Capps and you have the worst gm in the bigs.
