Chuck Knoblauch

Chuck Knoblauch is one of the greatest players in Twins History. It is unfortunate that he isapparently an alcoholic with dangerous personality defects. Should he ever overcome his issues, I would hope that the Twins would forgive his personal disabilities and extend the honors that Knoblauch earned on the field of play.

Still trying to figure out how he was Twins HOF worthy in the first place?

He was a damn fine player, prob one of the best 10 or so in franchise history. (Killer, Puckett, Carew, Olivia, Mauer, Morneau, Bert, Hrbek, Kaat, Knoblauch)

I just looked up his numbers, definitely better than I remembered. When he left here it seemed he burned some bridges and has been known to be a pain in the arse off the field. For the Twins to nominate him for HOF seemed to be against the Twins way. So like I said, he didn't seem Twins HOF worthy although I fully admit his numbers were better than I remembered.

The Twins pulled the plug on the CK ceremony and cancelled his induction all together. If they want to get serious about off the field issues, they should take Puck out too. Have we all forgotten his off the field blemishes, or does he get a pass for leaving the game, and life, all too soon?

IIRC, Kirby never was convicted of a crime. I believe there was a lawsuit and a lot of unflattering things were brought out.

On the larger issue of lives deteriorating as Knoblauch's has and it seemed Kirby's did as well, sometimes people can handle those tough breaks in life, and some people fall apart. Having a good support system helps and certainly Knoblauch lost his first and best supporter and Kirby may have as well.

How about piling up over 30 WAR in just seven seasons as a Twin, #8 in franchise history?

Kirby Puckett definitely gets a pass in Twinslore. That is very apparent. All of this is very sad. The Puckett story was sad, too. It is apparent that Twins' fans just don't want to think about Puckett in a negative way. I am sure there is more to both stories than any of us will ever know. I hope all involved find their way to help, love, forgiveness, and understanding.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the Twins distanced themselves from Puckett after his the allegations came out.  I think many fans felt the same way and the premature death made people think of the good memories. Which barring more problems right or wrong would haven happened eventually.

Still hard to wrap your head around the fact  Kirby Puckett is dead.
