Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Jake Seiner wrote about JO Berrios in his most recent Stock Watch. Talks about the FB jumping up to 98 while improving his control. It also has three videos. Great stuff! http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20140723&content_id=85793266&fext=.jsp&vkey=news_milb&sid=milb
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Thanks for the link, Seth. Berrios just seems so calm and composed to me. I suppose that varies somewhat but it was the thing that struck me most in his Futures Game appearance. They must have done a great job of getting him to channel his energies.
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 I think we can expect him to be hitting 101 regularly when he joins the Twins. JB_Iowa...JoseBerrios_Iowa, right?
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Electric stuff, can't wait to see him in a Twins uni
Badsmerf Verified Member Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Berrios is simply having a great season. I wonder what his upside is going to be listed at this offseason.... He has 3 plus pitches in his FB, curve, and change right? Is it too ambitious to give him Lincecum potential? I really like his arsenal. Last season I was concerned with his trouble at the end of the season. It seems like something clicked for him this season. I'll be looking forward to watching him the rest of the season.
TNTwinsFan Verified Member Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 1st Big League appearance Over/Under 1 SEP 15...I'm going UNDER! (Bold, I know, but I got no money on it so....I say, LET 'ER RIDE!)

It does seem like something has clicked for him. It would be nice to see him finish the season strong at AA and advance to Rochester some point next season. It will be interesting to see if the Twins clear the log jam of pitching at AAA so that guys like Berrios can advance further.
