    Sorry that's impossible. Does he have a hole in his glove? It went beyond his glove. Did he have a play? Maybe. What we have here is more over reaction. Fire this. The worst that. Calm down. With that bat I would give him more time. The Twins seem to agree.

    What is the point of this distinction? Just for criticism? Seems irrelevant that the trade was a few days before the deadline.

    To be fair to Julien that ball was 15 feet from the bag. That's the correct call.

    Could happen that way, or Ryan could get healthy, learn his lesson and repay the team with a stretch run like his first half.

    Hopefully they are planning on getting Buxton ready for the field upon his return for the stretch run and beyond, damn the torpedos, lol

    Wouldn't you want his optimum performance down the stretch and in the playoffs? If moderating his time behind the plate and instead giving him at bats at DH perseveres this version of Jeffers, that's the way I'd go.

    You might be right, but DH is a bad pigeon hole for a promising player that young. Try left field then, try anything.

    I think he can be pretty good at second. He is quick and might have more range than Polanco. Just needs to be better when he gets to the ball. If Kirilloff is out then and Lewis back for third, then yes Polanco at second and Julien at first. This assumes Buxton is back at DH.

    This is more like his market than the 20m the qualifying offer pays. Hard to know what Kenta wants but as mentioned above he is the kind of pitcher that ages well. He has had a slight tear in his UCL since before he came to MLB which is why he ended up with that incentive laden contract. He may be stronger now than he had been. Here's an idea. For the playoffs Kenta could be a very useful weapon out of the pen. His contact pays better if he starts so he doesn't like that move. Well negotiate a new two year, incentive free deal now with the stipulation the he agrees to bullpen work in the playoffs if necessary.

    Many are saying this but the only way Julien gets better at second is to play. Kirilloff looks good at 1st and is fine in the COF. That flexibility is useful. I would agree to Julien adding 1st base to his skill set later but right now 2nd and DH are enough on his plate.

    Do people remember how terrible this franchise has been for the last 50 years outside of the 5 division winners in the aughts and the championship teams?

    It's this really true or just a false narrative? They are middle of the pack in payroll befitting there market size. Wasn't Terry Ryan given similar budgets, but took pride in not spending all the money?

    To be sure not every player will want or need time off. But it is equally true that many are dinged up to some degree and could use a break or legitimately go on the IL. Of course there is nothing to be ashamed of or no moral failing involved in that. Lol

    Exactly, there is no conspiracy here. There also isn't a starter in baseball that couldn't use a breather at this point.

    Welp then Louie will have to step up, I'd watch that.

    It would be in any of the starter's best interest to take a break and I believe most would welcome it. That could be missing one start or an IL stint . Outside of Pablo and Maeda the others have shown signs of wear. This is a luxury, my friends, that us Twins fans aren't accustomed to.

    I posted this this morning. Don't want to toot my own horn, but I think Falvine is reading my posts. "I would give each of the starters a break. Some more than others like maybe a 10 day stint for those that need it. Forget the 6 man, use Keuchel to give them a break moving him through the rotation one spot at a time. Kind of like a six man but with IL stints if necessary. When this is done you will know exactly what you have, which may be 7 viable starters including Varland. Of course by then it would be time to sweet talk Kenta into the pen."

    I read everything I found find on Funderburk, mostly Twins Daily articles. Cody Christy said he had a four pitch mix, cutter, two seamer, slider and change. Has he pared down his pitch mix in the pen? He is a big guy. No info on velocity. Can this guy help the Twins in the pen this year? We need the help in the pen. The Twins have had many relievers that looked good in the minors, but never got the chance. If Kody can help, let's get him up!

    Walker Jenkins is the perfect example of how sometimes you have to ignore handedness in personnel decisions. Obviously they should have selected him regardless of how many lefty bats they already had. What I don't understand is Joey Gallo. Why not a right hander if you are not going to trust one of Wallner or Larnach stepping up? Personally I would've rather they sign no one. Yes Larnach has gotten dinged, but Wallner looks like the type that does the dinging, hello Tim Anderson, lol. I would've liked at least some bullpen depth, but I am glad Larnach is still around. From here Gallo needs to be a backup, if he is going to be here. When Lewis comes back I don't see how they can keep him around. If they send down Wallner again and keep Gallo, I will flip my wig.

    Everybody talks about how great Tom Kelly and Andy McPhail were and the championship teams were. Now if this team does exactly the same thing as that mediocre '87 team in a crap division did, WOULDN'T THAT BE GREAT!!? YAY HAPPY HAPPY!!
