  1. Miguel "Gone-O" Sano.....shortened. Miguel "Gono" Sano
  2. Maybe Carlson needs to drop hints to the teams in the bottom part of the first round that he wants above-slot money so that he can fall to us where we can pay him mid-1st round money anyway I know....Not the Minnesota way, but let's make it happen!
  3. Agree with the 'blowing smoke to try to get someone else to come down on the asking price" theory and the "pick someone who does one thing the best over someone who does two things 'very very good' with what will hopefully be our last #1.1 pick for the next 20 years!
  4. Nice addition to TD....Like that you keep looking for ways to make the site better!
  5. Granite!!!! I hope the front office will listen to offers for Rosario and Grossman (with that OBP, someone may be interested)…. He will be exciting to watch in the MLB and Grossman, though useful….not-so-much 
  6. Agreed….but we’ve got a looooong season left with only 1-2 slots in the rotation really a lock.
  7. Trade for even an above average return…. Realistically the real WS window cracks (if it opens) in 2 years at which point he’ll be gone anyway. I will trade a season of getting pounded in the 1st round of the playoffs by Houston for some above average prospects in return.
  8. There should be a Starting Pitcher Subway Sandwich promotion. Once we punch off 12 for this season, we should all get a free 12” sandwich. Run with this TD!
  9. My heart wants Greene but my brain wants Wright. Many people on this site rightfully focus on the need for multiple plus pitches to be a #3 or higher starter (make it through the line up more than 2 times). My biggest concern for Greene (yes, bigger than TJ surgery), is the wildcard of his secondary pitches. They take some level of ‘feel’ that is not always coachable.
  10. Busenitz with 1 walk and 15 Ks in 12 innings?!!!!!! If there are no promotions, we may have to covertly hook up the Twins dugout phone to contact the AAA bullpen instead….
  11. While I very much like TD doing this summaries. Yikes, there is nary a good prospect in sight….
  12. Thanks to TD for putting these monthly summaries together; one of the best contributions. If Wade and Granite can continue to maximize their potential….they replace Rosario and Grossman over the next 1-2 years. Together, they would make us more well-rounded defensively and offensively (as well as cheap and controllable).
  13. I think there are very few ACEs (5-10 at most). They need to consistently (>2 yrs) be able to dominate elite hitters and line ups hopefully to include high pressure playoff situations if needed.
  14. Mauer is fine for now... BUT, if Park or Palka really start to mash with reasonable control of the strike zone in AAA, he immediately becomes a liability at 1st (obviously a premium offensive position) Given our pitching staff, we are going to have to continue to score runs....lots and lots of runs...
  15. In the land of #5 starters, a #2.5 starter is an ACE. But no, will not be seen as an ACE by other clubs at the trade deadline which is what matters most. He IS a wonderful signing and a great pitcher to have.
  16. Anybody seen Stewart pitch (live or video) this year? Any insight? If he continues to add walks to the lack of strike outs....look out below....
  17. Garver is also too legit....too legit to sit (around waiting to be called up)....sorry off thread but I couldn't resist
  18. Trade IF you get a good return.... I like that the new FO is willing to be flexible and patient (and showing the league). Patience early will help them to extract fair to better value in the years to come
  19. Grossman AND DanSan?! Where do I sign up for season tickets! I hope the prices haven't increased yet
  20. No worries.... at least our starting pitching is....er...ah.... We'll you just wait until Jay gets up to the MLB THEN our bullpen will be....er...ah...umm What's cookin' for the 2018 Draft!
  21. I think Dozier should actually bat behind Sano. From his leadoff success, Dozier has proven that he can supply his own power without line up protection....but I do think that Sano and the Ks (name of a band?!) would benefit from some line up protection.
