  1. I guess the next time he blows up we can just say, "What the Happ?"
  2. It could just be happenstance.
  3. Ball go up, ball come down.
  4. Check out the Yankees lineup today. The 3 outfielders are batting 7-8-9. I don't think I've ever seen a Yankee lineup like that.
  5. Nice to see Garver as one of the top 3 WPA guys instead of the "Man do I suck" list.
  6. Perhaps Happ is happy since his performance wasn't hapless. ?
  7. I'm just tacking on here but Javy Baez is one of the reason to go see a baseball game. He's one of the most exciting players in baseball and can beat you on any given play in any given way. Very talented, very creative.
  8. Chalmers is intriguing but his command is . . . fleeting.
  9. It's the end of May and some evaluations are in. Sometimes you gotta rotate some guys who aren't performing out, and bring in some fresh meat. My high school football coach used to say that you never really know what you have in a guy until you put a helmet on him and run him out there. ?
  10. Off subject here, but does anyone know if Michael Davis the infielder drafted in 2018 out of Texas Tech is still in our system? Baseball Reference has his last stats in 2019 and I've seen no mention of him this year. Ok, I looked around and answered my own question. Baseball America says he voluntarily retired Jan. 20, 2020. He debuted with a solid 2018 then struggled in 2019. I wonder what the story is.
  11. I wonder if the Cubs bench jockeys were yelling for Craig to throw the ball to the catcher. If Craig just holds the ball he then tags Baez, but then he quickly decides to toss the ball to the catcher to tag out the runner coming home from 3B. Maybe he thought the Pirates were coaching him to do that when it was really the Cubs egging him on. I really liked how the Pirates ensued to throw the ball all over the place and the announcer urging Baez to keep on running. Awesome.
  12. I've got a 1927 Babe Ruth Strat-o-Matic Card! ?
  13. << The team's recent run of near-competence has at least one fan convinced that things are turning around. >> Perfect article for this morning as I was thinking the same thing. So far this baseball season has been brutal for Twins fans and I am as guilty as the next guy for wanting to kick each guy on the roster in the behind and yell bad things at them. But being an optimistic sort I am ready to "root the comeback". The next 10 games gives us an opportunity to get our act together. Go Twins!
  14. I thought he looked pretty good behind the dish this game.
  15. The "nonsensical foot motion" may be more a mechanism to prevent over swinging or an affirmation of completing the energy transfer through his body as he swings. Good question about soreness/injury potential.
  16. 20-29 looks so much better than 19-30.
  17. We don't have a closer, its just the last man throwing.
  18. Gordo gets to stick around.
  19. Probably Farrell or Gordon if they think players are healthy enough to cover the infield. Stashak is getting rusty out in the bullpen.
