  1. Was curious what the record was for stolen bases in that league. It's pretty stiff competition down there and I only went back a few years. 2015: Randy Ventura (Braves) had 55 SB in 58 games. 2014: Gabriel Meija (Indians) had 72 SB in 70 games (and caught 20 times)
  2. In the DSL SS Agustin Marte (Age 17) stole 2 bases. He now has 9 stolen bases in 13 games.
  3. Marte has 9 stolen bases on the year... (He's played in 13 games so far). Had to do a double take.
  4. I really think we got a sleeper with the HS C - Kidany Salva. Glad we got him on board, didn't think we would.
  5. 17 strikeouts through 8. But they managed 2 home runs last inning and take the lead
  6. Elizabeth Twins have struck out 16 times through 7. Pretty impressed.
  7. I'm sorry, if you need to repeated GCL at age 19, you are not a prospect. He better rake and get called up or I'm writing him off
  8. I would also put vielma and arruiz higher than some of these. Wander Javier is a better prospect than Palka as well
  9. Agreed that Polanco was criminally underrated in this poll
  10. What determines if a player signs for slot, above or below? Draft position obviously has some impact on salary but not necessarily. Blows my mind though that Lopez would only get $30k but anyone after round 10 could get $100k and benningoff got $600k. I mean how does Lopez not even get $100k?
  11. I actually like the Twins actual draft better after having reviewed his shadow draft.
  12. Vielma has been having a hell of a year. Any chance he gets a September cup of coffee?
  13. Was a rule 5 pick by the Brewers from the twins but has been hurt all year. Twins will get him back. What type of player is he? Can we expect him to help our bullpen in the 2nd half? I imagine there's no high expectations since he was left off the 40
  14. Don't worry. They'll be telling him to swing like a man in no time
  15. Wander Javier was 1-1 but then was taken out, someone pinch ran for him. Wonder if he tweaked a hammy and is out for a bit
  16. Agreed that it would have been nice having Ramos. Too bad we couldnt have had developed someone like him in our organization.
  17. Wasnt a fan of the Kirilloff pick until I really broke it down and saw what we have for OF talent in the organization (granite, our premier players are graduated from prospects to young talent at that position)
  18. Potential played a part. For walker and garver, we know who they are. Garver is a backup catcher ceiling and walker is a AAAA player at best. I mean he's barely a AAA player right now. Yeah those guys are ahead of who we drafted but they don't have a lot of potential so I can't see them being key contributors in the future
  19. I know Seth did his organizational rankings in total but I wanted to give my thoughts (for what that's worth) on how I view the prospects and wanted to do it by positional breakdown so we can better dissect the health of the organization. For the sake of argument, I will assume all of our top 10 round draft picks will sign. Catcher 1. Ben Rortvedt (all potential here) 2. Mitch Garver (backup catcher at MLB level) 3. Stuart Turner (AAAA player) 4. AJ Murray 5. Kerby Camacho Comments - Adding some depth here but no one really standing out right now 1st Basemen 1. Lewin Diaz 2. Amaurys Minier 3. Zander Wiel Comments - Yikes! 2nd Basemen 1. Jorge Polanco 2. Luis Arraez 3. Sean Miller Comments - Think Polanco could stick. Arraez is still kind of far away but he could be a player. Sean Miller is some nice depth. Shortstop 1. Nick Gordon 2. Engelb Vielma 3. Wander Javier 4. Jermaine Palacios Comments - Position of strength right here. I actually like Vielma better than Gordon but easily Gordon has the higher ceiling. Middle Infield is definitely a strength in the organization and it could be hard to break them in. My guess is that if we start making a run in a couple years, the prospects could be used as trade chips 3rd Basemen 1. Trey Cabbage 2. Travis Blankenhorn 3. Jose Miranda Comments - A little rough here. Everyone is pretty far away. Could Javier move over to 3rd base if MIF is full. Corner Outfield 1. Max Kepler 2. Alex Kiriloff 3. Danial Palka 4. Travis Harrison 5. Lamonte Wade 6. Akil Baddoo 7. Adam Walker Comments - Some depth here but nothing too special. Probably doesn't need to be with the Twins outfield being young and pretty set in stone with guys like Sano, Kepler, Rosario, etc. Centerfield 1. Zach Granite 2. Edgar Corcino Comments - Nothing here but does there need to be with Buxton locking this position down? Starting Pitchers 1. Jose Berrios (have him a 1 or 2) 2. Tyler Jay (1 or 2) 3. Stephen Gonsalves (2 or 3) 4. Kohl Stewart (3 or 4) 5. Fernando Romero (backend starter) 6. Lewis Thorpe (backend starter or relief) 7. Felix Jorge (5th starter or relief pitcher) 8. Randy Rosario (relief) Comments - We have a lot of top end talent here. I won't bother posting the relief pitchers as I think you know of the usual suspects. Chargois, Burdi, Ramirez, etc. Sorry if I missed anyone but it really looks like we have some incredible depth in the organization at all positions (except 1st, 3rd, Catcher and CF) and I would be hard pressed to find another organization with this much talent. I really do believe the Twins will be contending in 2-3 years. It looks like we will have a lot of trade chips available if we are really missing pieces
  20. How many of these guys do we expect to sign? 25-30?
  21. I wonder how the players feel that get drafted now just because of their family ties. Trey Griffey was selected by Seattle solely for the press they can say they drafted Ken's kid. Trey didnt even play baseball the last few years.
  22. Looked at an Arkansas forum and it looks like theyre worried Benninghoff will leave as well. Should be interesting to keep an eye on him.
  23. The twins have a number of young arms that are going to come up at the same time and give the team a very strong rotation. Just think about it for a minute... I think Tyler Jay will be our #1, Berios/Gonsalves our #2/#3. Kohl Stewart has potential to be a 2 and we don't even need him to be, he can be our #4. Then we have a lot of young guns that are not as far advanced but have a lot of potential like Jorge/Romero etc. Our rotation in the majors is very rough at the moment, but the future looks very promising.
