  1. I count 13 RBs who have switched teams already and none to Dallas. Not much left for a team that has always loved to have a top end RB. It's a pretty weak draft class for the position too. Are they going to reach for a guy late in the 1st?
  2. I don't think Jones was great last year by any means. Even if he hadn't missed time, his rushing numbers were down across the board. I'd rather just see Ty Chandler. Jones might have some early momentum from switching teams, but I doubt it will last, he looks done.
  3. They're basically the same interception machine. I guess if I had to choose, I'd pick Darnold since he's not a complete statue and is two years younger.
  4. I think I'd rather have taken a chance on JK Dobbins or AJ Dillon than Aaron Jones. The guy is almost 30.
  5. To get one of the top three, almost certainly. And I'm more than fine with that.
  6. Sam Darnold it is. Like I mentioned before, I really could care less about who the veteran QB was going to be on this team. What I am annoyed at is that people continue to think Shanahan is some magic QB guru. Darnold started one meaningless week 17 game last year. None of the starters or back up QBs that have left SF have done jack squat. It's not the QB's it's the system.
  7. It's not wasting picks if you get a good QB. Besides, I've seen no evidence this front office can evaluate players that get drafted after round one. Who wouldn't trade Booth and Cine to move up and get a better QB?
  8. Ha, I think the Bears are going to get bent over the barrel with Fields. With Pittsburgh, Tampa and Atlanta getting starting caliber vets (eh Wilson??) along with Vegas signing Minshew, Denver, Minnesota and the Giants are probably the only teams outside of the top three picks who'd trade for Fields to be their starter. I'm quite confident the Vikings won't, and I'm nearly as convinced Denver won't get fooled into doing that again after the Wilson situation. They'll either have to talk the Giants (who should have Jones back sometime this year, and is probably [barf] better) or Washington or New England into trading for him. So, either they can drum up a bidding war that includes at least two teams drafting ahead of the Vikings, which obviously would help the Vikings cause in trading up for one of the top guys, or they trade him away for peanuts to be some team's backup, as there is little competition for him. Or they say screw it and keep him. That works for me too.
  9. Yeah, I don't want Mullens, but I don't see a difference between him and most of the other guys out there. I really could care less about the veteran that will be here. Either they draft a good one this year, or they try again in the next two. Nobody available, Cousins, Mayfield, Wilson and Fields included, are likely to lead anyone to the Super Bowl unless they go the SF route and have an elite defense. Sorry Greenard, Van Ginkel and Cashman, I'm happy to have you, but you ain't Bosa, Warner and Greenlaw. Hmm, though phonetically, Greenard and Greenlaw are pretty close.
  10. So what are you hopping for? Mediocrity and never taking a chance at winning it all? I'll take the 10-20% chance at being great with a high chance at being bad over zero chance at ever being great. If you don't keep locking yourself into a QB who can't do it, you can keep trying until you get it right.
  11. I agree, the Vikings are in a brutal spot right now, which is why a bunch of us were hoping they'd play Hall and the young guys to develop, with the side benefit of having a better draft picks this year. This team would be picking 6th with one more loss this season. Would anyone other than the players who were benched care or remember had they lost to the Saints, Falcons or Raiders after Kirk went down? 2022's 13-3 record might end up being one of the five worst things that ever happened to this franchise. They'd be in so much better of a situation had they been ready to rebuild last year and traded Cousins, Hunter and Harrison Smith. But who cares if the vet is Darnold, or Tyler Heinicke or Russell Wilson or Kirk Cousins if this team can't do better than winning one playoff game a decade. The only option, now and even when they signed Cousins the first time, was to draft and develop an initially cheap franchise QB who has the potential to drag this club to the Super Bowl. Most of us don't care if they weasel into the playoffs just to get smoked early.
  12. Yeah, I'm sure Taylor Swift has another decade of selling out football stadiums in her. Better break ground quick though to get in on that action.
  13. I was wondering where they’d put it. In the parking and underused green space south of the current stadium? looks like the spot the White Sox want to move to could fit both stadiums, but wouldn’t leave much in the way of the parking and green space referenced in the article. Nor the two dozen high rises shown in the White Sox renderings.
  14. Greenard is probably the only one they couldn't move on from next year if they don't work out. I might rather have had Frankie Luvu instead of both Cashman and Ginkel though. He got 36M total; no breakdown available. Not that I'm complaining.
  15. Don't you at least get 3/4ths of a run if you get the guy over to 3rd?
  16. So I was making my own notes a couple weeks back (for my dynasty league) and decided there were seven teams with severe RB needs. Bal, Cle, LV, LAC, Dal, NYG and MIN. Six of the top free agent running backs signed today, and only the Giants from my list signed one. Makes me think someone is going to overpay Derrick Henry, as the next best guys after him are probably Ekler and now Aaron Jones, both of whom looked to be done last year. There's going to be some pretty unsexy starting RBs in the league next season.
  17. And Kyle Farmer had almost the same OPS at the majors as Lee did at AAA last year. I'm looking forward to seeing Lee, but it's not like it's a stone cold fact he's better than Farmer.
  18. He's not a good QB, he can only run. I don't see O'Connell thinking he's an answer.
  19. Sure, but there's next to no chance Fields will be a Viking, so I could care less how terrible he is. And I DO know what I got. A wildly inconsistent team that will never win a championship if they stick to the current path.
  20. I hope he does. What does that matter?
  21. I'm now curious about this new defense. Van Ginkel was mostly an interior LB last year as was Cashman. Is Pace out along with Hicks? Otherwise, if he's going to play edge, it seem similar to Greenard. Should be interesting.
  22. Wow, didn't expect the Vikings to be this active today. Cashman looks like a younger Hicks replacement. Works for me. Three front seven defensive players. I was hoping for interior OL, but the defense is making strides already.
  23. Antonio Gibson is going to New England on a three year deal. That would have been my top 'cheap' RB free agent, but if he's getting three years, it probably wasn't cheap after all.
  24. Spoke too soon, the incumbent is being release. Aaron Jones is going Aaway.
  25. Two edge rushers? Interesting. As much as I'd like to, we can probably cross that off the early round draft list. ;
