  1. I think I'd take this guy over Napoli. Talk about a nightmare scenario. Could they keep him and Grossman given neither of them should even be allowed to own gloves? lol There has to be someone who can hit their body weight and not be a complete embarrassment in the field. Happy medium.
  2. Unless the point is to try to DFA and try to sneak him to Rochester, I don't get it. Yes, it's important to have a bench that can play some defense, but you have to have something that can pinch hit if needed. A bench of Grossman, Escobar, Adrianza/Santana and Gimenez/Murphy is dreadful.
  3. Aw, Dan San and his amusing job security. I guess it was just wishful thinking. But I'll stick with my gut and say Tonkin.
  4. The only others that could be debated would Dan San and Rosario. Maybe I'm missing someone.
  5. So, what was your favorite Michael Tonkin moment? Or who else would they consider dropping?
  6. Would we working at Target Field during Twins games give one the right to use "we" when making statements about the team? That might make it worthwhile.
  7. http://s2.quickmeme.com/img/22/2294cec4d3ad25dc38a54235d6083681dddd68dc6edc1478f14bd5304db95acd.jpg
  8. On the bright side, the new regime didn't blink, so that's a good thing. Now let's hope 2017 Dozier is closer to second half of 2016 Dozier than first half of 2016 Dozier and he either ups his trade value or contributes to those 70 wins I'm hoping for.
  9. Did Terry leave a store credit at the toilet store that Pohlad is making Derek and Thad spend before they can make any real moves? Every time I see a Twins nugget pop up I get momentarily excited before realizing that their latest move is even more embarrassing than the previous one.
  10. I'm saying Jake Reed makes a serious push to make the opening day roster ... chances helped a lot if Perkins and/or Hughes aren't fully recovered.
  11. If I recall, Andy has a son. Does he have a mediocre track record that could earn him a minor league pitching coach gig?
  12. I think Dodger Blue included Sheffield under the guise of potential for front end of rotation. I don't think anything else I've seen truly believes that. Also not a big fan of quantity.
  13. I'd love to see what they rated on the 20-80 scale for speed. And LeCroy. Possibly a 20 with laughing emoji next to it?
  14. He's a gamer? Do we still say that as a compliment or is that gone with the old regime?
  15. This do anything for anyone: Willie Calhoun, Jose De Leon, Jordan Sheffield and Brock Stewart in exchange for Brian Dozier and (maybe) Kintzler. http://dodgerblue.com/would-brian-dozier-twins-trade-prove-too-costly-dodgers-prospects/2016/12/29/
  16. Based on readiness and ceiling, I'd also prefer the first two pieces be De Leon and Alvarez. If they balked on adding Stewart, I think it'd have to be two other under-the-radar guys taking his place as the rest of their top guys appear to be bullpen arms. For me, Alvarez is the key cog.
  17. The only grades I'd probably disagree with here are Grossman - I'd go C+ given his defensive struggles (putting it lightly) and the high number of Ks in relation to run production. The other one is Santana's F. Do we have to use a typical K-12 grading scale for him, or can we just give him a Z and call it a day?
  18. I think no more accurate words have ever been written about "I Would be Doogie."
  19. All of this. All of this x 1,000. Robbie lived up to, or possibly surpassed, the expectations placed on him as Baseball Prospectus' #76 prospect of 2012, but nothing he did (in my mind) puts him in consideration for a starting spot. Barring multiple injuries. His "defense" is comical, his arm not much better, and while he does draw a number of walks, he also strikes out a bunch. I can live with strikeouts if there's a ceiling of high run production there. With Rob, I think we saw his absolute ceiling last year.
  20. Beresford the story of the year? Really? In a year that included a sighting of the elusive Sasquatch of MN Twins history (a 40-HR hitter), a rookie hitting 3 HRs in a game, the cornerstone (for better or worse) of the front office fired and a shift from the Twins Way to a (hopefully) more modern brand of baseball, the best story is that of a Punch and Judy poor man's Punto getting a participation trophy? Heck, I'd say having Albers, Dean and Milone in the same place at the same time is a bigger story as I was convinced they were the same guy.
  21. Isn't Kepler out of options? Doesn't that make more seasoning at Rochester highly unlikely since he'd never clear waivers? I was at the game where Grossman had two errors on one play ... so, no, he doesn't have a strong case to start anywhere.
  22. I'm guessing once Molitor is gone. Either as his replacement or as a coach for whoever does eventually replace him. Coming off of last year, with a new regime in the front office, any manager would probably spend the year looking over his shoulder at someone that at least appears to be a big league manager in waiting if they were brought in. Kind of like Gardy seemed to do with Molly when he came in or at least when it was suggested that he should be.
  23. I was totally on the same page as you for Point A. As for Point B, as Chris Carter once said, "You got to have a fall guy in the crew."
  24. I'm sure we did. But in his second go round it didn't seem to matter if he moved early or late ... the results were almost always the same and almost always negative.
  25. I'm all for Falvey holding out until he gets exactly what he wants ... or at least something close to it. Yes, I'd LOVE to see him moved for young, high-end pitching, and think that's what they should do. However, the worst case scenario is they end up hanging onto Dozier going into the season. There are worse things. The main reason I like it is that it shows the young guy knows what he has, knows what he wants and isn't going to settle. It's a good precedent to set going forward.
