  1. It's been a weird season for me. I can't watch games on TV (Hulu subscriber) and I can't always listen on the radio. Even attending games has been difficult this year. I do usually find a way to at least check into a game somehow though. The teams play only compounds much of my other frustrations surrounding the season. So, it's kind of a love/hate relationship that I have with baseball this season. Even so, it's still great to be able to talk baseball, whether it be here or at the water cooler.
  2. Pitching, even with velocity, is an art form. Good pitchers have the ability to hit their spots when the want/need to and can throw multiple pitches for strikes when they need to. Velocity helps cover up weakness in the location aspect, but that doesn't make them good at pitching. Ultimately, pitching is, and always will be, about keeping hitters off balance. Velocity is just one part of that.
  3. It could be said that it's unusual for them to reach base 5 times at all...:) But to answer the question, in a game like this one it's not ridiculous.
  4. Nice to take some positivity into the break. Hopefully that will carry over on the flip side because that stretch promises to be taxing on the pitching staff.
  5. Yet, it's seemingly key to the Twins offensive strategy.
  6. Tigers got 'em right where they want 'em!
  7. The aforementioned horrible beers seem an appropriate wager for this one.
  8. I initially read this as "we don't have very many ribs" and was rather confused...
  9. "Makes it FUN to be thirsty!" That's a fantastic tag line!
  10. At least they're being rather efficient about it!
  11. Weren't they doing that last night against a guy with a 6+ ERA? There's a theme there.
  12. Buy a case of Aquafina. Costs more, but more taste!
  13. Terrible beer and a story to go with it?
  14. That only figures, right? Cool memory with the brothers though. Well worth the stop!
  15. That's about all I'd had to pay too. But that's because I weighed 120 pounds soaking wet and had no tolerance.
  16. How much did you have to have before it got to "not horrible"?
  17. Aside from more injuries, there's no reason Cave should be brought back up.
  18. I'm not a beer drinker at all, but I remember this too. Surly has a few offerings that I'll partake in now and then.
  19. Proud endorser... ...of something else!
  20. Mmmm... sounds delectable. Where do I find a case? I'd like to avoid it!
  21. Wondering if it's legal to cross state lines with Scotch for @Squirrel?

  22. I'm not sure. I haven't heard of, or paid enough attention to, what the latest policies are. And I haven't gotten to the ballpark early enough to see them do it. With Target Field back to full capacity, it's certainly worth a try.
  23. Without names, I'm not sure that I trust these "sources"! What does Stu expect me to do? Math?!?
  24. Sorry! I got sidetracked and never got back to the game thread! Which, incidentally, kept me from having to break out the emergency bourbon!
