  1. 14 games under .500 at mid May, basically .500 since. Ya got that one backwards.
  2. Right. He made it look about as unnatural and uninstinctual as one probably could. Almost like he was thinking about it instead of just reacting.
  3. Correct, but that doesn't make it an easy play. I'm not disagreeing with anything you've said.
  4. Yup. Not an easy play, but not nearly as difficult as he made it look.
  5. Agreed. He's fine there, but the guy currently manning it is better. Therein lies the problem.
  6. And another example of why it would be nice to IL Donaldson if he can't play the field and bring up Miranda.
  7. Just another example of Arraez showing that he has no position, unfortunately.
  8. Berrios got roughed up a bit tonight. Only went 3 before getting the hook.
  9. Not a terrible pitch there to Shaw. Sometimes you just gotta tip your cap.
  10. This is what the eye test told me as well. As a Cardinals fan as well, I've seen him pitch enough to realize that he had quite a bit of luck on his side. In my mind, his game is better suited for the bullpen. And he could end up being very effective there. I think that AL lineups would eat him alive if in the rotation. He'd likely fare better in the pen not having to face batters multiple times.
  11. This hardcover, gold bound set of episodes will beautifully accent the Encyclopedia Britannica set on your living room book case!
  12. I'd love to see a couple of these guys brought up, but I think there's definitely value in keeping them in St. Paul for the playoff chase. I would imagine we'll be seeing lots of them next spring either way.
  13. What if I already cut it with a splash of water? Am I really screwed now?!?!
  14. Meaningless. Meaningful. They still oddly produce the same reaction! Frustration! Thanks for the coping mechanisms, though! Sometimes Scotch just doesn't cut it!
  15. I think they carry the .500 trend through the rest, plus or minus a couple of games. I do think they'll have some positive trends to close out though. We're seeing some of those now.
  16. I realize they had to pitch to Polanco in this case, but I'm starting to wonder why anyone pitches to him in these situations. Anyone else on the roster is an easier out than him.
  17. That's at least an improvement on the logjam they have a corner positions!
  18. While I don't see this being agreed upon, it, or something like it, could at least be a gateway to a hard salary cap and floor. There's no chance they go from the current system to a hard cap and floor like other leagues have. There's going to be some middle ground and a gradual transition to one, if it's ever going to happen. I'm not holding my breath, though.
  19. Thorpe left with a shoulder injury. Not sure if that's been said here yet.
  20. I'm in the middle of my STH satisfaction survey and this discussion about tomorrow's pitching options isn't exactly inspiring positivity!
  21. Didn't they just clear a spot by DFA'ing Vincent?
