  1. "Mollie's Game" was really good -- Aaron Sorkin wrote and directed, and the story and dialog are both strong. I also enjoyed "Hostiles", which involves a physical and psychological journey about inhumanity and redemption.
  2. I have read this entire thread and the other thread. My sense is that most of the posts have been thoughtful. However, some posters have been disrespectful of other posters. Once the thread is unlocked there is going to be ZERO TOLERANCE of that. If you think that someone's post is stupid, either be respectful in your response or refrain from responding. If you insult the other poster or bicker then you will have your posting privileges suspended. My impression based on reading the thread is that I believe that there is general agreement that Betsy is probably telling the truth. On the other hand, we live in a country where the presumption of innocence is a bedrock principle, and it is important to look for discrepancies in any accuser's story. I suspect that it will be weeks or months until all relevant information becomes public, or maybe it will never become public. In the meantime, the moderators are going to insist that posters be respectful of opposing views. Feel free to argue, but keep it respectful.
  3. What he said was ".It's likely he'll never have more than a cup of coffee.." [emphasis added]
  4. The post in question was tongue in cheek -- hence the allusion to the Beverly Hillbillies. That said, the Angels play in Orange County -- fewer movie stars or world class sushi bars, and a much smaller Japanese presence.
  5. Another way to look at this is that he is focused on three world class cities (Yankees, Cubs and Dodgers) and two teams that have had very successful Japanese players (Rangers and Mariners). Among these five choices, I would choose the Dodgers -- swimmin pools and movie stars, not to mention great weather, a great tradition and great sushi bars.
  6. Too scary for me.
  7. You should be glad that you did not get out in time. No one can time the market.
  8. I loved reading this every day. You provided recaps that were better than what I could find anywhere else. The writing was crisp and relevant. The clips were well chosen, and the other features were informative and apt. This obviously took a ton of work, and I am grateful.
  9. Your game summaries have been stellar. Thanks for all the hard work. It paid off.
  10. Great post. I look forward to more quality content during the offseason.
  11. It will also help if Sano can stay healthy and Trevor May can come back strong. The Twins seem to have a solid young core and now it's up to Falvine to build on that.
  12. Out of likes, but I agree with you my friend.
  13. Agree, and if we can build on this season, and pick up some better pitching and keep everyone healthy then next year could be the one.
  14. I don't remember ever seeing that in a MLB game.
  15. That run was painful, but with the bases loaded it could have been much worse.
  16. Or at least two. He threw only 14 pitches and his stuff looked good.
  17. The game is now two-thirds over, and the Twins are still in it.
  18. Mauer came 6 or 7 feet away from tying the game.
  19. Mauer will never have a better opportunity for redemption than he will have now. Tying run at the plate. And a commercial for him to plan his at bat.
  20. Sano did not look good in his most recent plate appearances.
