  1. This team doesn't need more 31 year old pitchers who flamed out in the high minors. Abel and Bradley are in AAA while Jose Urena is spot starting. Apparently there's no room for Outman either? The auditions aren't just to see who can stick on a sure to be crappy 2026 squad. I'm a debbie downer because I don't think Travis Adams has looked good at the major league level? C'mon.... I'll say it again concerning depth, if you're chopping/churning through names you don't have actual depth.
  2. Johan Santana was a Rule V draft pick too.... Cool, play the actual youngsters. Give the audition time to players that might have a real future with the organization. Don't stack your bullpen with journeymen in their mid 30s and invoke Brent Rooker's name. Like I said, if one good game from Martin, or a single decent outing from Adams gets your juices flowing, good on ya. Send whatever that magic is my way. If there's a lot of wood to chop then you don't have depth...
  3. You could even argue Sands has taken a step back this year, which further proves how volatile the build can be.
  4. Find a way to mass produce whatever copium you've stumbled upon.
  5. Resurrect that old Aaron Hicks thread and plug in Correa. Be the messiah we all need.
  6. Eh, two paths that lead to the same destination, or different strokes for different folks I suppose? Royce gets more of a pass from me because he's younger and he's not eating up a disproportionate amount of payroll. Also, I can kinda appreciate the honesty, even if I don't always love what I hear. Correa just felt phony to me. I fully understand why people prefer, or even lap up the polished, corporate speak, but I can't stand it. The way this fan base and particularly the media fawned over him at times seemed over the top, though I'll admit the bitter ending might be tainting my view a bit here. The guy just felt like Teflon. Constantly praised as a leader, despite the team underachieving. Numerous stories about him taking player X, Y, Z aside and pointing out some sort of potential analytical improvement. Yada yada. You can stomach it when the team is winning I guess, but it's particularly grating during the struggles. The "I deserve....." was tone def. You've been a replacement level SS for 4 months and you're making $30+ million. I mean...
  7. Lots of downvotes on the post, but the bolded isn't open to disagreement IMO. I've referred to him as the Russell Wilson of baseball for a while. The guy, for better or worse, is focused on crafting a certain image.
  8. Inferior coaching in an inferior environment. You're wasting valuable audition time. They aren't getting more of the view to view the project, they're procrastinating.
  9. Disinterested or not, Ryan gets out of the 1st unharmed as well if Julien doesn't botch that double play ball.
  10. OMFG.... Not that I didn't think it'd be atrocious, but this is comedy
  11. Eh, nothing would've been preferable to something if the Jax, Duran, or Varland moves are garbage.
  12. Even with that swap it's highly debatable they received anywhere close to excess value. That's a lot for a teenage catcher in low A.
  13. You can never have enough LH corner OFers who can't play defense right?
  14. The irony of that series of events...
  15. Good riddance to Correa. We'll see what return looks like and whether moving that salary is just more "right sizing." I'm sure the Twins ate as little money as possible to still make the deal work, and I'm sure Houston was happy to max out their payroll to keep talent in house...
  16. I got a good laugh out of "took a possible tying homer away from Correa recently." Between that and tweeting his minor league stats when the deal was announced....yeesh.
  17. Yeah I get it. I'm sure they think they see something. I was fully onboard with moving Stewart, but do it for an actual lottery ticket or just hold onto him and pray he's healthy either this offseason or at the deadline next year. Outman won't see LHP so they'll still need that veteran reclamation project RH OF.
  18. This FO loves their high risk low reward projects. He'll fit right into the batting order....
  19. Yeah that belief feels like a way to cope with an underwhelming return more than anything.
  20. Guys within the org + FAs will have to be added this offseason as well.
  21. Sure, they absolutely could've derailed a short career here or there. I guess we'll never know. I think the talent level of this organization is often overstated so I skew towards blaming what's happening before they reach the majors.
  22. This would be gross. I'm cool with moving Stewart for an actual lotto ticket(s) but if they're just avoiding arbitration here, holy ****.....
