Bombo is playing again? (Sorry, my mind is drawing a blank on a recent Twin whose last name is Rivera.)

It's like Venezuela - plenty of willing shoppers but nothing on the shelves. Twins have struggled with the low-pressure part of the auditions. It's been good to see Buxton start to hit some. We've had way too much deep introspection the past few years - still not sure how it has been a benefit.

Plouffe has been pretty consistent. (You didn't ask for good, just consistent.)

This just in? It must have come via Pony Express, because he has been on the DL for the past week. Maybe you're confusing him with Kepler, who has been out there most (all?) of the time since Sano got hurt. It's an easy mistake to make - they look so much alike.

I almost liked that. So close...

It's not like the old days when you could leave something lying around and it would still be there when you got back.

Ricky building his trade value up so the Twins won't have to pay too much of his salary to unload him. (Not there yet.)

Was this it? If not, you have another request. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIcwYLCh424

I think we need one of our vocab nazis to help explain the proper use of the word "awesome."
  10. gil4
I think it was the holding your breath that did it.

I know that was at least somewhat sarcastic, but there is some truth behind it, too. Even in that at-bat, he didn't look completely hopeless like he did earlier in the year.
  12. gil4
It was between that and the Pomp and Circumstance one (part 1) (in D minor, or something like that.)
  13. gil4
    Unfortunately, so does Suzuki
  14. gil4
I think it was more theoretical. I suppose someone, somewhere., was dumb enough to try it enough times to get it to work.
  15. gil4
Just as long as it doesn't convince you it's good strategy rather than luck.
  16. gil4
He needs to work on the home run to go with it.
  17. gil4
Do they need the costumes? How about next time in Milwaukee Park and Plouffe just join the race.
  18. gil4
Gave that lead back much more efficiently
  19. gil4
Good to see Kepler do something. If he and Buxton can start hitting the season won't be completely wasted.
  20. gil4
I didn't know that about the pitcher and I was still wondering.
  21. gil4
He's definitely living on the edge, like he's done all year.
  22. gil4
Good thing, because we were starting to fondly remember Jimbo's dissertation on the use of the word "irony." In the likely event I used or spelled dissertation incorrectly, I'm not caring in advance. (For the record, I liked the comment that defended Jimbo's grammar nazi post, and I'm really only playing here, too.)

Worked with my kids. The oldest took it a bit too far - he's a Yankees fan.
  24. gil4
Posting at 2:14 AM - the insanity is striking in advance

I know it's a game thread and standards are somewhat relaxed, but... Please get that song a 1-way ticket back to the 80s
