  1. easy day for the defense so far anyway
  2. And Wallner seems to be heating up in AAA again. It seems like an endless rotation of Kirilloff/Larnach/Wallner where none of them makes MLB adjustments to earn and keep the everyday job. So we get the hot hand (or the least cool, anyway). Larnach looks good this year. Let's hope he's finally made the jump. The clock is ticking close to 1000 AB for Kirilloff. Then I imagine we'll see the next wave of OF prospects fighting for LF. (I'll keep the 2025 Kepler talk out of this discussion since it's pure speculation anyway.)
  3. I think it was Jackson because they can always designate him and pass him through waivers again with little to no lost value.
  4. Roughly 10x that of Vazquez. Stats are fun.
  5. Exactly my memory. NL teams had those brighter uniforms in natural daylight. And the pitchers would bat. It was another world.
  6. WGN + TBS were some of the most effective baseball marketing and building lifelong national fan bases.
  7. Jeffers isn't exactly tearing it up lately. His AVG has fallen by like 50 points in recent weeks. To me, his recent hitting suggests he could use a day off.
  8. I support Jeffers having 2 days off in a row. He's played a lot this year at a demanding position and we're still only at the 1/3 mark.
  9. You're going to need to clear a lot of roster spots for all those new MLB players.
  10. Does it have to be a position player? (So many roster rules nowadays, who can keep track). Cuz I also think it could be any low leverage RP to buy time until a position player inevitably sprains/strains something.
  11. Couldn't you say the same thing about every player though? Though I wish you'd say "part-time" or something because that is not what "consistent" means. And coaches can help players to improve outside of live games too.
  12. Exactly. Citing Margot's PH stats are relevant, but there's much more to the strategy. He doesn't just get that 1 AB per game. It's more about forcing a bullpen move early. I personally don't love the excessive way Rocco does it. But it's like Year 4 of this so I've come to accept it since he never answered my letters.
  13. You can say a lot of things about Rocco's approach, but everybody on the team definitely gets consistent playing time.
  14. At this rate, I wonder if Pablo goes out for 8?
  15. Rocco literally said they sent him down to 'work on some things,' or some such language when it happened. This might mean mental, mechanical, or otherwise. I wasn't privy to that conversation.
  16. I'd be surprised, but we're past that "mid-May" point where rosters begin to settle and clear out the underachievers. I think there's a real possibility. But I also get the vibe (as others said above), that's he's sort of a Mike Redmond clubhouse type so...no idea what goes into these intangibles. It's hard to be a bench player, for sure, and I think it's not just about statistics.
  17. Given Lewis' injury history, it's likely he gets the Buxton treatment of playing the field 4-5 times per week, max. Lots of room. Who goes to AAA? This is overly dismissal, but does it matter that much? Twins Daily acts like every transaction is final when, in truth, there will be a second promotion/demotion of another player within a week. I personally don't think it will be Margot, since his whole purpose on the team is to play OF and neither Miranda nor Lewis does. And if they do cut Margot, I predict they make a second move within the week and promote somebody who plays OF.
  18. Controversial take: maybe Alcala is looking so good right now because he was sent to AAA to fine tune. But, honestly, I just don't care that he was sent down earlier. Let's live in the now instead of retreading transactions of a month ago. It's a long season.
  19. It feels like Kepler is hitting about .750 as a pinch hitter lately. (Not going to look up the real stats.)
  20. Team is winning again, so we have to find something to complain about via time machine, eh? Besides, the Twins coaching staff obviously would have ruined both players. /s
  21. That's only on forum articles, not front page. Which, IMHO, is backwards from how it should be.
