  1. Or just hold him there until they are certain Maeda can make his next start? I don’t think they need a BP arm yet. How soon will Winder be ready? He’s making rehab appearances, yes? Maybe they are waiting for him to be activated and will make that the move?
  2. Well, the consensus is correct on Wallner down for Kepler. The next moves will be interesting. I think they will hold onto Garlick for as long as possible, so I think Castro or Larnach will be the next to go down with the next activation, and the other with the one after that. (My guess would be Castro for Gallo and Larnach for AK.) Julien is going to be tough but I think he will go down for Polanco. Not sure it’s what I would do or want, I just think those with options will get sent down before losing either Garlick or Gordon. But Gordon is not going to be DFA’d this early. They will, and should imo, give him every opportunity to get it going. And these thoughts dependent on how players are playing at the times needed to make the transactions.
  3. Kepler activated, Wallner back to the Saints
  4. He started against the Yankees last year, too, and did quite well then, too. Maybe the Twins have found their curse breaker!
  5. I think the question is not the lineup but who gets sent down when these people return. So who gets sent down in place of Kep? Gallo? Polanco? AK? When they all are done with their IL/rehab stints?
  6. Yeah, okay ... was quickly posting irritation and this sets it back. However, I still don't like the position players pitching thing. I mean, the lead wasn't in double digits at that time, not sure if the rules stipulate anything, but I'd set it at 15 runs, you can pitch who want ... baseball's version of a 15-run rule.
  7. This brings up an annoyance for me ... position players pitching. Yeah, it's kind of a novelty and sometimes we all get a kick out of it. BUT ... I think that is something that should be limited. If you've already given up that you are putting in a position player to pitch, just concede and let everyone go home early. Seriously. You want to save your BP for tomorrow? Good ... concede the game and go home. Unless a player is listed specifically as a two-way player (and there are rules to get that designation), put out a pitcher to pitch or concede.
  8. It’s one of the Tuesday deals and usually only good for a week right before the start of the season, so if you didn’t get it this year it won’t be available again until next year
  9. I dislike position players pitching. Just concede the game and let everyone go home early.

agreed.  it used to be a novelty, but now it just increases the injury chances

But what about the beer sales?  Think of the vendors! 😆

Agree. Rare novelty to repeated and frequent insult to the game.

  10. Yes, Twitter and waste my time go together very well (and I do the same, so not just a comment for you) 🙂😉
  11. If he hits, I have no problem with him staying. And he’s probably a bit of an upgrade defensively than those two, but that I will concede if @chpettit19 says otherwise 🙂
  12. Maybe we are going to see Bux in CF soon? Then he can DH
  13. He’ll be here for the game tomorrow, is my guess
  14. This is my dilemma, though. I don’t know what’s needed or not. We don’t know what questions and conversations are being had. I get as a fan it gets frustrating and easy to project our own ‘reasonable’ hypotheses on every situation, but in the end, we don’t know. Doesn’t mean we have to be happy about it, and second guessing the decisions is part of the fan prerogative, still, we really don’t have any answers.
  15. Farmer worked on his swing during ST. I recall an interview where he was very appreciative of all the technology the Twins had to help analyze his swing and he then was working on using his hips more. Perhaps too soon to say he figured out something, SSS and all, but his work certainly seems to be paying dividends
  16. That game had it all, and I enjoyed it all … well, except for a couple of missed pitches … but over all, it had it all and was tremendously fun to watch. And discovering that mlb.tv now shows the game recap stuff! Yay! No more cut off after the last out
  17. I’d say there were a few, but not many, given the starting staff, their injury concerns, their records. A lot of context missing from that.
  18. As I always like to remind myself … it’s just a game. Yes, one I enjoy, one I like to understand in all its minutiae, and one I want my team to win, but in the end, I just can’t carry the grudges and angst some seem to, finger pointing and complaining even in wins, almost gloating in losses. In the vein of ‘it’s a marathon’, manage expectations is also a good philosophy: hope for the best, prepare for the worst, be happy for the wins, shrug off the losses - in the end, it’s just a game and not the meaning of life. Thanks for the article for a healthy dose of perspective that is often lost on these boards.
  19. The Twins win and some ‘fans’ here complain. They lose, same ones complain. Good things happen, complain. I think there is a pattern here

I’m sorry I complain so much. No one listens to me at home

Interesting take. Do you watch the actual games?

Yes, I do. Most of them. I'm out of market, but I have the mlb.tv package
