    Moderator note: This is not a thread on whether or not TR is a good GM. This is a thread on giving accolades to a winning season and those who got us there. I realize there are a diversity of opinions on TR, and I have mine as well, but don't drag this thread into that peripheral. If you don't want to acknowledge a good season, because you don't think it was, then don't, but don't drag this down a path of your own agenda.

    Maybe by bumping up this very old thread, (it was mentioned in another thread, so I had to go and find it) it will jinx those who predicted never in 2015, and they'll put him out in center during the last inning for his last hurrah.

    Makes sense, I guess. It looks as if he had a decent year, and given his contributions as a player to the game, I'd think I'd have a hard time leaving him off the post-season roster. But then, it's a business and when you want to win, sentimentality should have little to do with it. It's the way it goes. Hard choices.

    I don't think there are 'more' or 'less' in a participant. Just that anyone participates, however much or little, is equally good to anyone else. That's what the game threads are about. But I won't vote for anyone but Brian and he's not on the list, so I won't vote for anyone.

    Right. And further, even if heart and culture are the broader issues, we cannot ignore the symptoms. The accessibility to the type of weaponry we have and who can access them is plain and simple, ridiculous. We need to start somewhere. As long as guns remain as prolific in our society as they are, the culture will not change.

    Welcome to TD, sportsdiamond! Have to say, I agree with above posts ... no way is Joe ever moving back behind the plate. Even if in theory it might seem like the thing to do, it is just never, ever, gonna happen. Most likely is Plouffe being moved at some point ... might not be in the off-season, but that seems to be the more likely scenario. But who knows?

    yeah ... but what Brian's serving up ... isn't really a chicken dinnah ... it's little pieces of chicken (probably chicken) mixed in with pasta and tomato sauce ... from a frozen bag ...

    So ... Brian was taking a poll ... we'll continue it here: Riverbrian: Alright.. This isn't a joke. I'm cooking my supper between games. I'm in the mood for everything so I don't care. I have 4 bags of frozen food that will go into my skillet and I can't decide so I'm letting my friends on the game thread decide which one I go with. Here are the choices: Bertolli Chicken Florentine & Farfelle Bertolli Italian Sausage & Rigatoni Bertolli Schrimp Scampi & Linguine Paul Newman Grilled Chicken Teriyaki with Lo Mein Noodles. Whichever gets the most votes I'm going with Help me out So far he has a million and 2 votes for scampi, and one for the chicken ... please submit your opinions here.
