Talked today to the building engineer and one of the maintenance guys in my building. They have both now heard from their families in PR and all made it through the storm. However ... from what they said, it is far, far, far worse than what we are seeing on the news here. There are some areas unreachable and completely cut off and getting any kind of aid there is near impossible. Near San Juan is a little bit better equipped with resources, but outside of that there is no water, no fuel, no access to food, no access to medical care, most everything is destroyed, that aid can't even reach places. He said that that Katrina is nothing compared to the death and destruction there. If they made it through the storms and the floods, people are literally dying from no food or water, and injuries and disease. Their words according to their families. And Trump is worried about how they are going to rebuild? Most there are worried about being able to live through another day as he plays around not doing much nor in a timely manner.

Not convinced. It's still Mauer or Buxton by a whisker over Dozier. (Personally, I don't care, really don't. In this season I'm really not sure just one person alone made the difference in this team winning ... I think every player made the difference and think without just one of them ... pick one of the main ones you'd put in this category, and without any one of them, we might not be here. It was a team effort.)

This is my order as well. While his offense struggled in the beginning of the season, he's come on strong. But his defense, wow, has been the most rock solid and consistent throughout the season. A lot of the plays the left side of the infield made would not have been recorded for outs without him at first. Although, I might give Buxton a tie with Mauer and wouldn't question it at all if he were the MVP. I would question it if anyone else were chosen above either of those two.

That wasn't really my point. I can't believe the number of people, especially the president, who are focused on this when PR is torn apart, (I know people here who have still not heard from family members there), when people in Florida and Houston still have no where to live, when the northwest has been ravaged by fires, when there are serious investigations ongoing about the collusion of our president and/or his team with a hostile foreign government over the involvement and interference of our election, when there are those in our own country who are oppressed and discriminated against for their gender, race, religion, etc., and the list goes on. I see so many people shrug at ALL of these things, these things that are a WORSE subversion of everything these symbols (the anthem being one) of our country stand for. And in the process of forcing people to stand, take away yet another freedom. It's hypocritical at best. But I guess to each his/her own but I just can't understand the extreme care for one and none of the others. As for me, I stand. Because it means something to me. And I try to sing along, unless whomever is performing the anthem makes a mockery of it with a horrible performance and I can't. As for the person next to me, it's his/her right to do what they think is best. It is THEIR RIGHT to show their patriotism and love of country in their own way. I am not as sure as you that standing is the right thing to do for one and all. Kneeling before God isn't disrespectful, so why is kneeling for the Anthem disrespectful. I don't bow my head and close my eyes to pray, am I a heathen? I don't shut myself in a building every Sunday to do so, either, so am I less religious, less devoted, less deserving? The fact that the most repugnant human being can stand before the country, draped in the symbols of our democracy and freedoms, do more to destroy them with his actions, and wants to force anyone to stand for the anthem, while devastions of life is around him, well, I just don't know what to say. He is the antithesis of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and for him to Twitter away about this, imo the least of his priorities right now, it's just disgusting. That was my point.

Yup. And nothing any of us can do about it, so enjoy the good stuff and toss away the bad.

Meh. I think we are in. While yes, it could happen that we lose the remaining four and the Angels win the rest including tonight, I don't see that happening, so I'm not going to freak out over this game.

That's okay. I don't want to see the Twins clinch on an Angels loss ... I want them to clinch with a win tomorrow with Santana on the mound.
