  1. I don't have to follow this anymore ... it was just for the first week or two after I got out of the hospital ... but my friend, it's basically life long for her. But things that are harder to break down and digest are pretty much a no.
  2. After I had my pancreatitus, I found out a friend of mine suffers from chronic pancreatitus ... she basically has a diet that is completely opposite of what a nutritionist would consider healthy ... high carb, low protein.
  3. Not every runs like Buxton. Heck, not everyone runs like the average speed ... some players are slow, it's who they are.
  4. Ah ... I tuned in late, but not really! Yay for slight delays! Had some good news today ... I don't have cancer! Yay! Although, the likelihood of it was pretty slim ... still ... yay!
  5. Lol ... this is basically the gist of every time I ask Brock a technical question. That and conversations that begin, ‘Ooooops, Brock?’
  6. This is just another low-carb, high protein (fat) diet. Ironically, when I was released from the hospital after having a pancreatitus attack (which is very painful, I might add), my instructions were low-fat and low-protein, basically the opposite of these types of diets. I could eat carbs because they were easier for my system to digest. I couldn't eat a lot of fat or protein or raw veggies
  7. We’re getting a bit off topic here. Starting a thread discussing these issues of when to move/add players would make for a separate thread. For now the primary discussion here is who we think will be the 26th man for the double header on June 5.
  8. I’m guessing Slegers. May isn’t ready, and besides, if he were they’d likely make a permanent spot for him. And I think they think it’s too soon for Gonsalves and it doesn’t work out with the rotation in Rochester anyway. So, Slegers it will be.
  9. Don’t question it. Just go with it. I like cashews.
  10. An example of speaking too soon ...
  11. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/05/twins-claim-tyler-motter.html "Motter has spent most of this season at Triple-A, and given that he has an option remaining, he’s able to serve as minors depth without issue. But it’s possible he’ll eventually get an opportunity at short in Minnesota, where starter Ehire Adrianza has been woeful at the plate."
  12. To clarify what 'no negativity' means in game threads, as it certainly doesn't mean be positive all the time, because, yuck ... I mean who wants to say, 'Yipppeeee!!!! Our pitcher gave up a grand slam! Yay! I'm so happy!' ... Watch the game, comment on the game, shake your head about whatever, get excited about whater, say ****! ****! ****! about whatever, say 'YESSSS!' about whatever, be critical about manager choices as they happen (and not as a retrospective for all time), be depressed if we lose, give kudos when good things happen, and eat chicken when we win ... but stay away from pre-determination of awfulness before it happens, or turning the game thread into an ongoing discussion about why so and so is still on the team and how awful they are, or the FO should've done this or that, or over-exagerating when something bad happens as EVERYTHING is bad. We have many discussion threads on many topics ... if you want to go on and on about a particular topic, topic threads are the place for it. Game threads are for real time, real action, at-the-moment discussion, good or bad, not an unloading of should've, would've, could've about the existance and state of the current Twins, and not to vomit all over the place. We ALL know where the Twins are at, we all SHARE the frustration. Game threads are not here to foster the misery, but rather have one place where we don’t dwell in it. And if you want to throw in stupid jokes along the way (Chief), or talk about Dick's ties (new member bashbury), or what you're grilling/grilled today (yes, we all know it's chicken but elaborate), or what you're baking while watching the game ... levity and side bars about nothing will either make the good better or the bad tolerable. That's what game threads are for.
  13. River Phoenix died many years ago. Sorry to inform you.
  14. Amazing how you left part of the description out of your photo that says nothing of sleeve length when determining the correctness in choosing a properly fitting polo shirt ... But I was right about the fit of the 2nd photo. It was too big. Had it fit properly the sleeves may have ended up being an inch or two shorter. Thanks go to Ashbury for the refuting photo.
  15. It’s difficult to truly judge from a photo. I want to see how well it’s made and feel the fabric. But I like the color and I’m a fan of paisley prints, while I know most people are not. I’d give it a B+. I like the blue and the grey better, but this is most definitely above average.
  16. Yeah, I have the same look on my face right now as Bert does in that photo. Oh, and ick.
  17. I don’t mind the length of either. However, the bottom look loses points with me because the shirt, over all, looks too big, it’s just not fitted well. I agree with Ash in the top one ... looks like it’s ready to be handed down. But I like the shoes. Basically, neither shirt works because the fit on both is a fail. And it’s not about sleeve length.
  18. I think your grades are biased in that you likely don’t like ties yourself. That said I do agree on the grade of the first tie. You do realize that the matching pocket square wasn’t a lucky find. It was probably a hand-made tie and the pocket square was sold with the tie or in the same tie shop. Despite the unfortunate color, it probably cost well more than either you or I make in an hour. I like the blue tie a lot. But I also like the grey tie as much. But it doesn’t look grey to me. It almost looks like a greyish lavender. It’s subtly very nice. The length of his shirt sleeves depends on one thing only ... should he be covering his arms. Since I can’t see his arms, I can’t determine whether or not the length was a good thing or not. No grade on that until more information is provided. (And please don’t post more information by posting a photo of Dick shirtless or in a tank or your posting privileges may end up in serious jeopardy.)
  19. 6 innings pitched and 'only' 3 ER is considered a quality start by definition. While I wish Gibson were sharper yesterday, like we've seen him be this year, I'll take that start over a blowout. If our back of the rotation starters can limit themselves to 3 ER I'm good with that. We didn't lose that game because of Gibson. We lost because our offense failed to show up ... again.
  20. I receive hand written notes all the time at work, in one various form or another, but often cursive. I also write and leave notes of one form or another, usually hand written.
  21. No, Nick got it exactly right. Carter is Sano’s future if he doesn’t make a change to his present.
  22. I think that when people are at work, their participation is curtailed somewhat. I can pop in for a comment or two here and there, but I can't sit here commenting, nor can I watch the game.
